ARMY BOARD, 1944 President Roosevelt (FDR) provoked the attack, knew about it in advance and covered up his failure to warn the Hawaiian commanders. FDR needed the attack to sucker Hitler to declare war, since the public and Congress were overwhelmingly against entering the war in Europe. It was his backdoor to war. FDR blinded the commanders at Pearl Harbor and set them up by - denying intelligence to Hawaii (HI) on Nov 27, misleading the commanders into thinking negotiations with Japan were continuing to prevent them from realizing the war was on having false information sent to HI about the location of the Japanese carrier fleet.

Sadly, Japan struck Pearl Harbor the following weekend... JUST as the newspaper said! If that's not enough, it also appeared on the front page of the Hilo Tribune Herald on the SAME day! This was obtained from the records of the Hilo Public Library, 300 Waianuenue Ave, Hilo, Hawaii 96720. And is in fact 100% genuine. Break the Conventions - Keep the Commandments - G.K.Chesterson reading old newspapers is fun... magazines, too. my favorite is a story from time magazine in the 30s... this guy whacks his wife in the head with a live chicken, which kills the chicken and knocks his wife cold. he revives her, and orders her to cook the chicken. . that was one of the entertaining things about being in thailand... the bangkok post was full of stories like that. you got to wonder if maybe we're all taking ourselves too seriously... humanity is, after all, pretty comical.

FDR didn't do it to sucker Hitler into the war. He did it to sucker the Japanese, since FDR, an incompetent, thought the Japanese were buck-eyed, near- sighted buffoons who couldn't fight. He was as surprised as hell at the severity of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Not surprising, the typical American conspiracist crackpot thought the Germans were behind Pearl Harbor, since they thought the Japanese couldn't pull it off. The Germans, just like Bluto thought in "Animal House." Modern propaganda as defined by Jacques Ellul is the systematic immersion of the public in a particular way of looking at the world.
I had thought I posted this earlier today, but evidently I neglected to complete the process. It should be kept in mind that the attack on Pearl Harbor was part and parcel of simultaneous Japanese invasions of Malay, Thailand, Hong Kong and the Philippines. The Japanese anticipated that such attacks would attract intervention from the US fleet based at Pearl Harbor, so, from the very start of its expansionist war, the Japanese had planned to attack Pearl Harbor. Moreover, the necessity of such a Japanese attack was known to the US military well in advance. The US military expected a Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor .... but nobody knew WHEN. It simply was not practical to keep the troops in Hawaii on high alert for weeks at a time. And, in those days, prior to radar and satellites, virtually the only way a Japanese attack could be anticipated would be by the very slim good luck of a friendly ship or plane crossing the path of the Japanese fleet. Various strategies were attempted, including beefing up the artillery at Pearl Harbor. Douglas MacArthur, commanding the Philippines, was similarly ordered to reinforce his munitions - but he ignored the instructions on his theory that Japanese spies would regard this as provocation and possibly misinterpret it as a sign of an impending US attack on Japan. In the States, various papers reported an attack was "expected" almost every week, different papers reported this expectation on different weeks. Remember that the Pearl Harbor attack came the same day as the Japanese invasion into several other targets. In short, an attack on the US base in Hawaii was considered inevitable but nobody on our side could determine When. On Dec 7, the Japanese Ambassador delivered the Declaration of War to the US Secretary of State some 55 minutes after the Pearl Harbor attack had already begun. The usual explanation is that the coded message to be relayed by the embassy took so long to decipher. I suspect, instead, that someone miscalculated on the time zones involved and thought the message was being received in Washington an hour ahead of the attack.
App. one hour before the attack on PH, one we both agree was expected, a miniature Japanese submarine ran ashore near PH. One Japanese operator (there were two in total) was captured. I agree with their goals re; peace, but frankly we're already at war w/Iran and their movement has fallen apart, as I predicted once the cold weather up North set in.

Very possible. If you're right, look for the unwashed masses to resurface, in strength, at both national conventions in 2012. I recall the '68 D convention in Chicago very well, and we could easily see a dual repeat in Tampa (Rs) and Charlotte (Ds) this go around. My guess is that it's in hibernation mode so as not to catch pneumonia.
