A former military policeman, he’s now a member of a group called Law Enforcement Against Prohibition, or LEAP, a group of former cops, prosecutors and judges that supports ending the war on drugs.

I've heard of LEAP. Now, if Ron Paul's bill to legalize marijuana gets somewhere, that will be fine with me. But, I do not partake of it at all. ;)

I don't smoke marijuana. I don't smoke anything now having quit smoking cigarettes ±25 years ago. Having said that, it is none of my business if someone else smokes and that includes marijuana. Nor is it really any business of anyone in the government.

In principle I agree with your comment.

But within the medicinal cannabis community, in California and elsewhere, there is support building to boycott "cartel weed' entirely and only purchase domestic cannabis.

And I support this as well.

If a person peels back enough layers they'll find that the cartels and prohibitionists are on the same side.
