NEWT: Palestinians Are An 'Invented' People Glynnis MacNicol | Dec. 9, 2011, 3:53 PM | 1,562 | 43

In an interview with Steven Weiss of The Jewish Channel following the Republican Jewish Coalition forum earlier this week Newt Gingrich said the Palestinians are an "invented people."

"I believe that the Jewish people have the right to have a state, and I believe that the commitments that were made at a time. Remember there was no Palestine as a state. It was part of the Ottoman Empire. And I think that we've had an invented Palestinian people, who are in fact Arabs, and were historically part of the Arab community. And they had a chance to go many places. And for a variety of political reasons we have sustained this war against Israel now since the 1940's, and I think it’s tragic."

Gingrich also aligned himself with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's approach to foreign policy.

"I see myself as in many ways being pretty close to Bibi Netanyahu in thinking about the dangers of the world. I believe in a tough-minded realism. I believe that if somebody is firing rockets at you, they are probably not engaged in the peace process. I believe if somebody goes around and says you don’t have a right to exist, they’re probably not prepared to negotiate for peace," he said. "I think if someone says they wanna wipe you out, you should believe them. So I see a much more tougher-minded, and much more honest approach to the Middle East in a Gingrich administration."

Ben Smith at Politico notes that casting the legitimacy of the Palestinian state into question Gingrich, should he get the nomination, sets "a sharply confrontational tone toward the Arab world."

The Washington Post's Karen Tumulty says that as a crazy as this may sound it's a stance that will strongly appeal to the evangelicals.

I sure am. He wants to marry up into a leadership job with his eyes already admiring Israel's legs and ass.

We need a president ready to kick Israel's butt when they ask for it, not one that can't wait to jump into bed with it after getting the job to preserve, protect and defend this country and the U.S. Constitution that would make that a criminal conflict of interest.

The Joos are really Khazars. Christ was supposedly Jewish. When He was crucified, the Romans put a sign above him which read, "INRI", "Jesus of Nazareth, King of the Jews". ;)

I'm not a fan of Newt Gingrich but I suppose you have heard that old saying that even a blind squirrel gets a nut once in a while?

March 31, 1977, the Dutch newspaper Trouw published an interview with Palestine Liberation Organization executive committee member Zahir Muhsein. Here's what he said:

"The Palestinian people does not exist. The creation of a Palestinian state is only a means for continuing our struggle against the state of Israel for our Arab unity. In reality today there is no difference between Jordanians, Palestinians, Syrians and Lebanese. Only for political and tactical reasons do we speak today about the existence of a Palestinian people, since Arab national interests demand that we posit the existence of a distinct "Palestinian people" to oppose Zionism. For tactical reasons, Jordan, which is a sovereign state with defined borders, cannot raise claims to Haifa and Jaffa, while as a Palestinian, I can undoubtedly demand Haifa, Jaffa,Beer-Sheva and Jerusalem. However, the moment we reclaim our right to all of Palestine (meaning Israel)"

Walid Shoebat, a former PLO terrorist that acknowledged the lie he was fighting for and the truth he was fighting against:

“Why is it that on June 4th 1967 I was a Jordanian and overnight I became a Palestinian?”

“We did not particularly mind Jordanian rule. The teaching of the destruction of Israel was a definite part of the curriculum, but we considered ourselves Jordanian until the Jews returned to Jerusalem. Then all of the sudden we were Palestinians - they removed the star from the Jordanian flag and all at once we had a Palestinian flag”.

"The truth is that Jordan is Palestine and Palestine is Jordan," - King Hussein of Jordan, 1981.

And the truth is the truth no matter who tells it. JD

And the truth is the truth no matter who tells it. JD

And the land was stolen by the Zionists/Israelis and its owners driven off regardless of how the history of Palestine is revised.

"It is the duty of Israeli leaders to explain to public opinion, clearly and courageously, a certain number of facts that are forgotten with time. The first of these is that there is no Zionism, colonialization or Jewish State without the eviction of the Arabs and the expropriation of their lands." Yoram Bar Porath, Yediot Aahronot, of 14 July 1972.

"Jewish villages were built in the place of Arab villages. You do not even know the names of these Arab villages, and I do not blame you because geography books no longer exist. Not only do the books not exist, the Arab villages are not there either. Nahlal arose in the place of Mahlul; Kibbutz Gvat in the place of Jibta; Kibbutz Sarid in the place of Huneifis; and Kefar Yehushua in the place of Tal al-Shuman. There is not a single place built in this country that did not have a former Arab population." Moshe Dayan, address to the Technion, Haifa, reported in Haaretz, April 4, 1969.

The bulk of those occupying Palestine are not Israelites but are instead Eastern European trespassers forced upon the Arab community that had inhabited that area for the previous millenium by the U.S. and Great Britain through the artifice known as the UN.

Any supporter of the Zionist State of Israel's legitimacy is either mistaken or part of the fraud.

Revised? I didn't do any "revising." Perhaps you think that the Arabs quoted were the revisionists? That would seem to be directly contrary to their interests.

My point really is that regardless of which state claims suzerainty over the area that is named Palestine as a region, if not a nation, it has existed and been named such as far back as Herodotus who mentioned it by name in one of his in his travelogues in the 5th Century BC. Had you asked a Palestinian the same question at the turn of the twentieth century they would likely have named the Ottoman Turks. Palestine has been rolled over by many different conquering hordes from the Crusaders back to the Romans. The point is that the attempts to confuse the issue is intended to invalidate and delegitimize the Palestinians as a people and the owners of the land they occupied before it was stolen by the conquering hordes of Israel. Whereas in the past the conquerors were content to exercise authority and control the Zionists want to ethnically cleanse the land as they steal it.

"We walked outside, Ben-Gurion accompanying us. Allon repeated his question, What is to be done with the Palestinian population?' Ben-Gurion waved his hand in a gesture which said 'Drive them out!'" Yitzhak Rabin, leaked censored version of Rabin memoirs, published in the New York Times, 23 October 1979.

There had never been a Nation of Palestine. No King of Palestine or Prime Minister. Nothing. Under the Ottoman Empire, that territory was merely a part of Syria (by the way, Syria still talks about taking it back). The League of Nations Mandate for the territory specified the creation of a Jewish National Homeland ... and not a word about creating a new Arab state.

In 1948, when the UN tried to obtain Arab concessions for the establishment of the Jewish State, the Western powers offered a new Arab state - which would be entwined with it on the map and also in an economic union. The Arab countries unanimously rejected the suggestion of a new Arab state. When the Egyptians took the Gaza and the Jordanians took the West Bank, they both declared the inhabitants to be subjects of their respective monarchies and did not allow any movements toward Arab independence or autonomy.

Only when the Egyptians and Jordanians fled in the face of the Israeli Army, 19 years later, did they speak of a Palestinian nationality - one they had absolutely refused to acknowledge when they were in possession for 19 years.

You might also want to inquire about the nature of these "Palestinians"; the definition(s) adopted by the PLO are absurd and would never be applied to other nationalities.

Specific references to "Palestine" date back nearly five hundred years before "the time of Jesus." In the 5th Century BCE, Herodotus, the first historian in Western civilization, referenced "Palestine" numerous times in chronicle of the ancient world, The Histories, including the following passage describing "Syrians of Palestine":

"...they live in the coastal parts of Syria; and that region of Syria and all that lies between it and Egypt is called Palestine." (VII.89) The above translation by Harry Carter is featured in the 1958 Heritage Press edition of Herodotus' famous work. Both older and newer versions corroborate the accuracy of the reference. A. D. Godley's 1920 translation of the crucial line states, "This part of Syria as far as Egypt is all called Palestine", while Robin Waterfield's 1998 updated Oxford translationrenders the passage this way: "This part of Syria, all the way to the border with Egypt, is known as Palestine."

A hundred years later, in the mid-4th Century BCE, Aristotle made reference to the Dead Sea in his Meteorology. "Again if, as is fabled, there is a lake in Palestine, such that if you bind a man or beast and throw it in it floats and does not sink, this would bear out what we have said," he wrote. "They say that this lake is so bitter and salt that no fish live in it and that if you soak clothes in it and shake them it cleans them." (II.3)

Two hundred years later, in the mid-2nd Century BCE, ancient geographer Polemon wroteof a place "not far from Arabia in the part of Syria called Palestine," while Greek travel writer Pausanias wrote in his Description of Greece, "In front of the sanctuary grow palm-trees, the fruit of which, though not wholly edible like the dates of Palestine, yet are riper than those of Ionia." (9.19.8)

Despite the Zionists’ claim "the Romans didn't rename Judea as 'Palestina' until a hundred years after the death of Jesus," contemporaries of Jesus also routinely referred to Palestine as, well, Palestine. For instance, in the first decade of the 1st Century, the Roman poet Ovid mentioned Palestine in both his famed mythological poem Metamorphoses and his erotic elegy The Art of Love. He also wroteof "the waters of Palestine" in his calendrical poem Fasti. Around the same time, another Latin poet Tibullus wroteof "the crowded cities of Palestine" in a section "Messalla’s Triumph" in his poem Delia.

The noted Alexandrian Jewish philosopher Philo, writing around the 1stCentury CE, opined, "Also Syria in Palestine, which is occupied by no small part of the very populous nation of the Jews, is not unproductive of honourable virtue." (XII.75)

The Jewish historian Josephus (c.37-100 CE) was born and raised in Jerusalem, a military commander in Galilee during the First Jewish Revolt against the occupying Roman authority, acted as negotiator during the Siege of Jerusalem in 70 CE and later penned vital volumes of Levantine Jewish history. His The Jewish War, Antiquities of the Jews, and Against Apion all contain copious references to Palestine and Palestinians. Towards the end of Antiquities, Josephus writes, "I shall now, therefore, make an end here of my Antiquities; after the conclusion of which events, I began to write that account of the war; and these Antiquities contain what hath been delivered down to us from the original creation of man, until the twelfth year of the reign of Nero, as to what hath befallen the Jews, as well in Egypt as in Syria and in Palestine, and what we have suffered from the Assyrians and Babylonians, and what afflictions the Persians and Macedonians, and after them the Romans, have brought upon us; for I think I may say that I have composed this history with sufficient accuracy in all things." (XX.11.2)

The claim that the Roman emperor Hadrian, eager to punish Jewish inhabitants of Judea after the Bar Kokhba Revolt, officially changed the name of the region to "Syria Palaestina" or simply "Palestine" in 135 CE and forced the Jewish community into exile is dubiousat best, especially when, by then, the terms "Syrian Palestine" and "Palestine" had already been in use for over six hundred years.

Exactly. Regardless of how they dress, and whatever religion they follow - which includes Christianity and not just Islam as the propaganda dishonestly attempts to imply - they are nevertheless ethnically Arabs.

The Iranians are Indoeuropean and are more closely related to the people of Europe. Farsi is an indoeuropean language.

We're all Palestinians now.

Interesting that whoever the Jews perceive as an enemy suddenly lose their status as a people. Laying the groundwork for genocide....
