Some Good Things about New Orleans...NOW!

By Peter J. Peters

1. No aborted babies in New Orleans August 31, in the year of our LORD, 2005.

2. There are no sodomites orally copulating, in broad daylight, as they did in years past.

3. Bare breasted women are not seen on Bourbon Street, on this first day of the 34th annual SOUTHERN DECADENCE, that is due to parade and party until September 5th.

4. Little if any dope being sold in the French Quarter.

5. Prostitutes have left New Orleans, some in body bags, and on their way to judgment.

6. The theme this year for 'Southern Decadence' 2005, Jazz and Jezebels", is not being heard anywhere in New Orleans.

7. Pimps have moved north and don't have time to beat their whores.

8. Hotels have no sodomites present.

9. Workers in the Gay bars that usually stay open 24 hours will have a great deal of time off.

10. Sodomites and the Bourbon Street Businessmen's Association won't have time to worry about street preachers in the French Quarter.

And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God... Romans 8:28

Your not getting a "little light in the loafers" on me, are you?

OK, for us decadent types you can scratch #3. LOL

"It is common to assume that human progress affects everyone – that even the dullest man, in these bright days, knows more than any man of, say, the Eighteenth Century, and is far more civilized. This assumption is quite erroneous...The great masses of men, even in this inspired republic, are precisely where the mob was at the dawn of history. They are ignorant, they are dishonest, they are cowardly, they are ignoble. They know little if anything that is worth knowing, and there is not the slightest sign of a natural desire among them to increase their knowledge." H.L. Mencken
