You've got a new kitty?

Yes, I have a new owner. He adopted me when my neighbor moved and he decided he did not want to move and that this was home. Sigh. I'm a cat magnet.

Well, unpredictability and chaos fits the profile, doesn't it?

There is a cat living with me now too. First one I've had forever. He was going to everyone around here begging for attention and it turned out his problem was fleeing staff that had moved and left him.

I let him visit, and of course I put out a litter box for the guest and he found the high priced cat food the ferrets get and decided to hire me.

He's a short haired cat and it was interesting getting used to an animal that begs some attention.

The ferrets decided to let him live too. Though he hisses at them from the top of furniture when they are out of their run. It makes him think he's superior to them.

Well he is. Kitties is good buddies. I still miss my old friend Tom (and probably always will), Tibbs is a good pal too though.

Both species have their out do points to them. Ferrets are good pets you can take in public asleep in the right kind of clothes and charm women incredibly well. ;-)

Mine like to go sit outside the coffee shop with me and love riding in their rack mounted pet carrier on my bicycle.

The kitty is about a year old and still loves to play, and has grown very fond of me. If he's outside waiting for me to come home to let him in he runs at the sound of my voice and greet me with kitty talk and leg rubs designed to trip me as I walk. ;-)

He's a very dark tabby, which played into my decision to let him become a resident. Dark cats do not get adopted well, and with the hard economic times, they have had to start putting cats down because of the increase of abandoned ones.

He's grown on me and we get along well. Moonbeam, the woman near me has a black and white Persian who is an outdoor cat that is the neighborhood alpha. I think the puffy size of him intimidated Bat.

Splinter used to visit too and hisses then I evict him when he tries to get in now. He doesn't like to be told what he can and can't do.

Moonbeam got him a vasectomy because she doesn't like to 'break' cats, which is what she considers neutering to do. She wouldn't of done that if sterility wasn't required by her lease.

She bristled when I told her neutering would allow him to live longer, but it's hard to tell dedicated older Rainbow Hippies anything like that.

Such pretty cats!!

Now, what's the story with the dog playing in the yard with the deer??

I'm with her. Neutering is an awful thing to do to a pal. However, Tom definitely picked up his share of battle scars over the years. He had a bad habit of leading with his big head. I finally learned how to doctor him myself after about 600 in vet bills to patch him up.

Tibbers does that - whenever he comes in he has to come and say hi before he goes for the food dish. When I let him in in the morning he likes to bump up against me to butter me up for his morning wet food.
