GOP PRIMARY RACE Ron Paul's the leader we need By Jim Gaston (he lives in Myrtle Beach and he gets it!!) Poll after poll shows that the majority of Americans do not trust mainstream media, yet our society continues to allow this same media (Fox News included) to spoon feed us who we should vote for. This is no more evident than in the frenzied rise and fall of several GOP presidential candidates over the past several months. However, if we truly want to support the most credible, most consistent, most conservative candidate, all we must do is look back at their past records and what they have supported, rather than mindlessly believe their rhetoric. Bachman, Perry, and Cain have all had their turn in the spotlight as conservative darlings and now it appears that neo-con globalist Newt Gingrich is having his turn while the media continues to avoid the only true conservative, Ron Paul. If a freedom loving person who realizes government's proper role will carefully analyze each of the media favorites, he will find that each has been incapable of fully understanding the Constitution on very disturbing levels. For example, not only does Gingrich have a dubious voting record from past service in Congress, but he has also unapologetically supported TARP bailouts, individual health care mandates from Obamacare, illegal allien amnesty, expansion of the freedom-robbing Patriot Act, and bogus man-made climate change nonsense. And this is the guy who conservatives want to flock to now? C'mon America. Get real! Have we learned nothing from the failed candidacy of John McCain just a few short years ago? Any GOP presidential candidate who is moderate will fail against the Obama socialist machine. Romney, Gingrich, Perry, etc. are clearly moderate with nowhere near the principled dedication to upholding the Constitution as Ron Paul. Reagan did not win elections by landslides by being moderate - this should be a clue to all faithful Republicans. Ron Paul is the only candidate who has held true to conservative principles in the face of every storm. Granted his speech delivery may not be as smooth as Romney, Obama, etc. but haven't we learned what smooth talking gets us? If society's talking heads and so called leaders will support his message of free markets, less government, and individual liberty, others will follow. Samuel Adams said it bes that, "It does not require a majority to prevail, but rather an irate, tireless minority keen on setting brush fires in people's minds." Ron Paul has a very good chance of winning the nomination despite what biased media tells us. South Carolina can take the lead and help make this happen. That was a good endorsement.
Liberty is not a means to a higher political end. It is itself the highest political end. Lord Acton The human herd stampedes on the fields of facts and the valleys of truth to get to the desert of ignorance. Saman Mohammadi "If a politician found he had cannibals among his constituents, he would promise them missionaries for dinner." Mencken "..if the military is going to defend our freedoms, then we need freedoms to defend. Our freedoms must be restored before the military can defend them..." Lawrence M. Vance Você me trata desse jeito só porque eu sou preto. Junior (my youngest son)
