I know I'm probably grasping at a thin thread of hope, but if RP doesn't get the GOP nomination, the last two campaigns set up Rand Paul in a sweet position for a run in 2016. This campaign is giving him a lot of exposure, and he is a much better orator than his father in interviews and debates.

If the country survives another non-rp presidency, we might well get a Rand Paul presidency in 4 years.

Rick Santorum is the Most Dangerous Player on the Republican Field - Page 2: "fewer than half of the states have [Santorum] listed on their respective primary ballots."

Haven't fact-checked that yet but, if true, it indicates that his intentions are (like Gingrich and Perry) more along the lines of a Ron Paul vote spoiler than a serious candidacy.
