The site doesn't go back far enough, but I was able to ascertain by googling that One O'Clock Jump, by Count Basie was No. 1 for the year 1937!!!!!!!!!!!

Their best song -- "Eli's Coming" -- was written by Laura Nyro. Three Dog Night is a minor band compared to Elvis. When seconds count, the police are minutes away.
