Those were great! I liked the "homikaze" one, and the police attacked by violent protesters was good too.

I'd have thought you'd have caught the aircraft being a JU 87 going into a dive there ;-)

I guess I didn't look close enough. It's even more funny now! Good eye.

It's kind of like those old TV shows "Combat" with the M48 Walker Bulldogs with Iron Crosses painted on them to simulate German tanks. One always wonders why, so soon after WWII, no one was able to actually find a German tank to use. I've seen a couple of US M4A3E8 (Easy Eight) Shermans in person (there weren't a whole lot left after the war that the Germans hadn't destroyed-we had one in Vilseck Germany where I was stationed 97-99, and Anniston Army Depot has one) but it seems strange that Hollywood was unable to find even a PZ IV with the extra armor and side skirts. Those looked enough like Tigers that both the Soviets and the US believed that they were fighting a great deal more of them than were actually there, and in most accounts by US soldiers, pretty much every tank is called a Tiger.

Continuing on my accounts of used equipment, on Rock Island Arsenal, there is a little display with many vehicles. There's missiles, and artillery and tanks. There's a really cool Easy Eight that was hit like seven times, before it was knocked out during the Ardennes Offensive. They've painted the impacts yellow. It's really neat to see. There's also two artillery pieces off to the side. One is an 8 inch howitzer that was sold to the Iranians in 1977, captured by the Iraqis during the Iran-Iraq war, and then captured by us in the Gulf War. Next to that is a 155mm howitzer, sold to the Iraqis during the Iran- Iraq war and captured by us during the Gulf War. It was a sort of little demonstration on the unintended consequences of selling weapons to volatile areas.
