The lawyer for Levi Aron, the man accused of killing and dismembering 8-year-old Leiby Kletzky, hinged his insanity defense partially on in-breeding. Aron is accused of bringing Kletzky, who was lost on his way home from school, to his home and killing him, then cutting up his body.
Attorney Howard Greenberg told reporters outside a Brooklyn Supreme Court court hearing yesterday that Aron's actions might have be a result of genetic defects caused by inbreeding in Brooklyn's Hasidic community.
Look, everybody knows when blood relations have offspring, there can be genetic defects, Greenberg told reporters.
Greenberg confirmed that he will still mount an insanity defense for Aron, who has been ruled fit to stand trial. Greenberg argues that he is mentally unstable from a head trauma when he fell off a bike at age 10.
You dont do this unless youre crazy, Greenberg said, according to the New York Post.
Assemblyman Dov Hikind told the New York Post that the charges were insulting.
This lawyer is simply out of his freaking mind, he said.

The Brooklyn hebes must really be chimping out at being called "inbred", according to the reaction of Dov Hikind, anyway.....
