Ef Alan Keyes. I think farmfriend can tell you all you need to know about him.
Oh yes, I can tell you about Alan Keyes. First you have to understand that despite only being in California, the American Independent Party is the third largest party in the nation. We were affiliated with the Constitution Party from the beginning. Currently, until I re-register to vote for Dr. Paul, I am the secretary for the Sacramento Central Committee AIP.
Now prior to the 08 election you will remember that there were border groups bringing our porous borders into the news. Then there was a big stink about Simcox and the missing MCDC funds. Well the funds were funneled through a non profit called Declaration Alliance 501 C(4) chaired by Keyes.
As we all know from watching Jesse Jackson, running for President can be very profitable. Keyes has decided to follow suite. Failing to make inroads in the Republican pary he decided to make a play for the Constitution party nomination in 08. Now there is some controversy over whether the fix was in but the CP chose Chuck Baldwin to be their nominee. Not to be deterred, Alan worked with several AIP leaders to steal California's ballot access away from Baldwin and give it to Keyes in 08. The questionable leadership, one of which is a paid Republican operative, held a fake state convention at which the disaffiliated with the Constitution Party and affiliated with Keyes' newly created America's Independent Party. This caused a split in the party that has not healed today.
So as far as I am concerned Keyes is no more than a conservative form of Jesse Jackson.
