I saw another man get bit doing the same thing on the boob tube. He was a pro, not an amateur like this clown. It probably won't kill you, but for a day or 2 you will wish you were dead. -------------------------------------------------------- There is a group of related comb-footed spiders called Steatoda (widows are Latrodectus) that look smilar to widows, but do not have the type of red marking like the Widow in the first frame of this video do. Quite possibly the maker of this video did creative editing to scare impressionable idiots like you, who's to say? The one thing I would agree with though, as Black Widows don't particularly like hairless hominids, it is better to never handle one. Unless someone really enjoys making surprise runs to the emergency room. Supposedly what a BW can do. WARNING: This is very gross.... Don't watch it at or immediately after lunch.
They are usually docile from what I know of them. You can handle them maybe 99% of the time with no problem. But that remaining 1% is a bitch. Painkillers don't help. Even those that milk them for venom don't use conscious spiders.

This might be a recluse bite. They create ulcerations that can take a long time to heal. A grandparent was bitten by one. -------------------------------------------------------- That looks like a hobo spider bite too. I have a large scar on my arm from a bite from one. It took forever to heal. It took quite a chunk out of my forearm. It didn't do anything more lasting than making a good scar though.
