This is being passed around among Facebook users like a pipe at a college party: This reminds me of how much I hate the word ‘deserve’. In fact, it is the word to which my life philosophy (one I share with very many people) is most strongly opposed. I’m more of a “you get what you put in” kind of guy. In the realm of sexual relationships, that would be called Spengler’s Universal Law of Gender Parity. If we all ‘deserve’ the ideal then if the supply of the ideal is not plentiful enough to meet the demand, some demanders of the ideal e.g. women, will be left with a less-than-optimal outcome. And if they are told that they ‘deserve’ this ideal, the fact that they don’t have the ideal leaves them pissed off and resentful of the thing that didn’t meet their expectations e.g. men. Poster Comment: Go ahead. Give them what they say they want. See how far it gets you.

relationships shouldn't be that contrived or require that much work, imo. if it doesn't come at least somewhat naturally, it's not going to work. of course, it requires thoughtfulness and selflessness at times.
True. I bet that when you met your husband, you weren't looking for another girlfriend; you were looking for a man that acts like a man. What the OP says, and I see this all the time, is that they claim to want a man that acts like a girlfriend. THey just end up despising him for acting the way they claim they want him to act. I dont know why they do that. Maybe it's hardwired into their system. Or maybe it's a recent invention. I don't know. --------------------------------------------------------
