Something just came at me while watching this video. The video is upbeat and happy. And I suddenly thought of Maloney's 16% Rule.

Once you have reached 16% adoption of any innovation, you must change your messaging and media strategy from one based on scarcity, to one based on social proof, in order to accelerate through the chasm to the tipping point.

Now we as grassroots have been running the 'social proof' media strategy for a long long time, e.g., videos of people, celebrities, etc talking about ron paul. But most of them are under a gloomy/dark/'end of the world' context. We are usually in a defensive posture regarding our ideas. Like we have so much to prove...

I think we should up the fun! and show people that our ideas are not dangerous, that they are not gloomy, that to quote RP "freedom is popular". We need to switch gears and not feel defensive about our ideas. We should give the feeling (as 'social proof') that our ideas are popular! That IT IS what the majority of Americans believe!

Wikipedia describes social proof as “a psychological phenomenon where people assume the actions of others reflect the correct behavior for a given situation… driven by the assumption that the surrounding people possess more information about the situation.” In other words, people are wired to learn from the actions of others, and this can be a huge driver of consumer behavior.
