The Communications Director for Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) tweeted this morning that her boss has been detained by the Transportation Security Administration. “Just got a call from @senrandpaul. He’s currently being detained by TSA in Nashville,” the tweet reads. Update, 10:26: Paul’s father, Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) tweets the following: “My son @SenRandPaul being detained by TSA for refusing full body pat-down after anomaly in body scanner in Nashville. More details coming.”

THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!!
This is crazy, I guess suspicions of being a U.S. Senator with Libertarian leanings is one of the things the TSA profiles for. I hope this blows up in their faces. I'm thinking that may be why he made the stand. He gave them the choice of making a special VIP exception or making fools of themselves. Since we already knew TSA is staffed by fools, intentionally I believe, they obliged him by demonstrating it. Let the resistance begin.
Just so I don't have to miss "Uhmerikkan I-Dull" on TeeVee tonight. The BS won't stop until the airlines make a group appearance before Congress and cuss out those old bastards on Crapitol Hill in Dee-Cee.

More info - there was an "anomaly" in Rand's initial body scan, so my son requested to be scanned a second time. TSA demanded a full body pat down and Rand refused.

I'm glad someone said it.... As a congressman Rand is exempt from some rules of law if it relates to his business in congress.... If he needs to speed to get to a vote in time then he can do that. If I remember correctly only Capitol crimes are worthy of stopping a congressman from doing his duly elected job. I suspect the TSA agent in question will be fired.
