First up is the breast implant scandal, which has discredited both the plastic surgery industry and the UK's Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency (MHRA) after they ignored the warning signs about the dangers of these implants for almost 10 years! No real surprise to me there. Secondly, earlier this week, the prestigious medical journal, Archives of Internal Medicine, published the results of a major new study, which showed that taking a daily aspirin to help prevent heart attacks and strokes (which almost every doctor on the planet seems to recommend) can do much more harm than good. The researchers found that aspirin may cut heart attacks by 10 per cent, but raises the risk of internal bleeding by a whopping 30%. Previous studies have shown similar results and I've been saying the exact same thing for nearly 10 years. In fact, I sent you a newsletter about that about a month ago. Now, the latest study on the adverse effects of cholesterol- lowering statin drugs has found that post-menopausal females who take statins have a higher risk of developing diabetes... I see no reason to suspect that men are any different in this regard. Previous studies on males have demonstrated a 10-12% higher risk of developing diabetes among those taking statins. Frankly, the statin-craze is crazy and the fact that these drugs are dominating the market is a clear indication of the power of Big Pharmas marketing machine... Unfortunately, is all about making money. The odds are almost 100 to 1, that if youre taking a statin drug you dont need it! A new six-to-seven year US study, involving thousands of women from the Women's Health Initiative, found that patients who had been prescribed statins had a staggering 48% higher chance of developing diabetes mellitus, compared to those who were not taking statins. The researchers were not certain why statins raised diabetes risk and added that these drugs may have effects on the liver and/or muscles, which can result in more sugar being produced by the body. They also suggested that statin users could be slightly less physically active. Come on, this is not rocket science!... Liver dysfunction (causing sluggish metabolism, craving for sugar, chronic fatigue and hypoglycaemia and unstable blood sugar levels), is a well-known side effect of Statins as is muscle deterioration and fatigue (causing inactivity). It's ridiculous to think doctors are prescribing drugs that are supposedly preventing a killer disease, like cardiovascular disease, but in turn these drugs also increase the risk of another major disease diabetes. It's hardly surprising that the number of people being diagnosed with diabetes is reaching epidemic proportions, given the wide-spread use of statins. Add a daily aspirin and some intestinal bleeding to the mix and you'll soon be in trouble. Worse still, statin drugs have severe side effects... this is a well-established fact and once you are on the statin bandwagon you can brace yourself for at least one or more of the following: liver problems, acute kidney failure, muscle weakness and cataracts... to mention but of few of statins ever-expanding list of side effects. Diabetes which is a horrible and potentially deadly disease is a relatively recent addition. No doubt we will discover some more. Here is what could happen to you if you are taking statins. At your next routine checkup, your doctor might say to you when your cholesterol has improved but it now looks like you have diabetes since hyperglycaemia is a symptom of diabetes. There is a high probability that your Dr could be entirely wrong. Hyperglycaemia is yet another side effect of statin drugs... and for some people, it may be reversible as soon as they stop taking statins... however left untreated, matters could become far worse... Several studies have now shown that statins can cause high blood sugar: A meta-analysis published in The Lancet, reviewed randomized controlled trials beginning in 1994 and ending in 2009. These trials involved a total of 91,140 participants taking either a statin or a placebo. The researchers found that people treated with statins showed a 9 per cent increase in diabetes. UK researchers conducted a meta-analysis, known as the JUPITER trial, which took into account 13 statin trials which each included 1,000 patients or more. The participants were followed for over a year. They concluded that there was indeed an increase, even though very small, in the development of Type 2 diabetes in patients treated with statins. This brings us to the pancreatic hormone, insulin, which reduces blood sugar (blood glucose). We all need insulin to maintain healthy blood glucose levels... and as you may have guessed, too much insulin is a bad thing, because when insulin levels are elevated it causes inflammation... that leads to heart disease (the one things statins are meant to PREVENT). I have written a report on diabetes which explains how you can cure it and I will e-mail it to you free of charge if you request it. Chronically elevated insulin causes a cascade of inflammatory chemicals and high cortisol which increases the risk of abdominal fat, high blood pressure, heart attacks, chronic fatigue, thyroid disruption, plus major diseases like Parkinson's, Alzheimer's and cancer. And guess what? Statin drugs INCREASE insulin levels... which not only raises your risk of diabetes... but also all of the above! Whilst youre at it, ask yourself, do you really need to take that little statin pill? Is it worth it or are there other healthier ways with which you can maintain optimum cholesterol levels? If you really do have diabetes type II my report on diabetes will explain exactly how you can cure it yourself or with some supplements that I can provide. And also how you can reduce cholesterol quite naturally with safe natural supplements so that you can stop taking statins. The joke will be when you have your next blood test, your Dr will be feeling happy that the statins are lowering your cholesterol, but you will know that you're not even taking statins.
