the author, Michael Levi, is the David M. Rubenstein Senior Fellow for Energy and the Environment at the CFR, and his artticle is a mixture of disinformation, bad metaphors, and haywire logic.

his argument, although it's kinda hard to pin down, seems to be: party on, dudes, and dont worry about oil.

my comments, which are languishing, and most likey will die, in "awaiting moderation" limbo, go like this...

why would the CFR want to confuse the peak oil issue?

maybe because they figured out, within 30 seconds of that second plane hitting the towers, that this was the "new jpearl harbor" that their buddies in PNAC wanted?

maybe it took them another 30 seconds to realize that PNAC staged 9/11.

maybe it took them another 30 seconds figure out peak oil, and peak oil's role as motive for the 9/11...

maybe it took them another nano-second and a half to figure out peak oil must be denied at all costs, lest people start connecting the dots.

Sure, it IS about oil and natural gas, but not for the reasons you claim. It is about TOTAL CONTROL of the world's energy.

Current wells ARE still viable and more than likely being replensished via underground networks of oil, yet, countries such as Saudi Arabia have ramped down their production DELIBERATELY in order to drive up prices.

So the fact remains, the global elite wish to control EVERY drop of oil on this planet, as he who controls the world's energy, controls the world itself.

so there's no use worrying about a "new world order" or "one world government" because it's already in place...

...and they have so much control that impoverished nations in asia, africa and south america have to knuckle under... these poor countries cant produce their abiotic oil because this phantom government forbids it.

china is aswash in abiotic oil, which is why they're making oil deals all over the world...

the fact that so much of our "war on terror" seems to be focussed on depriving china of acces to oil is simply more evidence that china is awash in abiotic oil.

brazil, being such a big country, has got to have trillions of barrels of abiotic oil, but they are drilling offhore, in thousands of feet of water and thousands more feet of salt rather than drill their abiotic oil... as per orders from the rothschild masters.

canada is one of the biggest countries in the world, they must have trillions of barrels of abiotic oil, too, but instead of producing that abiotic oil, they're making a trashheap of northern alberta to get oil from tar sands.

And BTW, just because oil might be abiotic in nature doesn't mean it's readily accessible from the crust. Where the crust is thin is where you'll find oil, such as in the Gulf of Mexico.
