In Texas on the I-35 North, a warrantless internal checkpoint nowhere near the U.S. border. An immigration officer asks if I am a U.S. citizen and then asks "where ya headed?" It's bad enough that I answered him at all, which is not required. (See checkpointusa.org) But as this example shows, once you submit to tyrannies, they get even bolder. It's none of this jackboot's damn business 'where I am headed', or where I came from.
In Delaware the state police set up a check point and when they asked one man where he was going, he said, "I don't believe that's any of your business".
He was arrested for "wandering aimlessly without purpose".
As I've said many times before, it's a form of summary punishment known as, "You can beat the charge but you can't beat the ride".
Lol! Man that is damn stupid. I think the cop's reaction has a lot to do with the suredness of the person who is standing their ground.
DE is like no other place I've lived. The state police are worshiped here as an infallible entity, at least by white folks.
White guys from DE with 4 yr degrees would rather be a Destapo Agent (Delaware State Police=Destapo. Get it?) than an FBI, DEA or IRS agent, but blacks go to the Federal govt (who are also looking for a minimum of black faces to satisfy a mandate) because their chances of promotion are much better than on the state police. (even so a group of blacks still sued the FBI, claiming, "skriminayshun")
DE has promoted a total of one black captain after he sued the state, and he had to sue again to force the state to give him command of a troop, which all other captains received immediately upon promotion.
The state tried to say that he was a "captain at large in charge of recruitment" or some such nondescript duties that gave him no command authority over any pretty white wimmen.
And, of all the people to defend the police, a local town police chief (and known womanizer) told me (he helped spread the whisper campaign) that the black captain was fond of white women! This local cop was caught having sex with the female mayor by a former town mgr (also black) and within a few days the mgr was fired by the town council for "leaving a file cabinet unlocked."
DE was very proud of their "minority recruitment" even though their police graduating class photos show mostly pretty white women "minorities" one of who was killed her first week on patrol alone when she made a U turn in front of a tractor trailer.
One black trooper used traffic tickets to extort sex from women and several complained, and he was fired. When his termination was upheld in federal court he said, "I came name several white troopers who do the same thing!"
Of course the diff was, if true those women apparently were agreeable to the deal (sex for the cop no showing in court) because none of them complained.
So, what do you call a black dressed in the uniform of a Delaware State Trooper?
