I live in SW Mo and Gingrich and Santorum were by far the most popular candidates in the area. According to the media, Santorum won my county by 56%, with Romney coming in second with about 26% and Ron Paul with 12%. Gingrich wasn't on the ballot in Missouri or he would have likely split the Santorum vote. Greene county is filled with Talibornagain Southern Baptists, Assembly of God whackos, and Church of Christ/Pentecostal fundinuts who have declared war on Islam and salivate at the thought of us attacking a Muslim country - any Muslim country. These people believe themselves to be subservient to Israel as well as begin their servants and protector. They have twisted their Book of Fairy Tales to convince themselves of this. They consider us to be in nothing less than an all out religious war. If their courage matched their rhetoric on local talk radio they would be killing the Muslims that attend the various colleges in the area. Instead they just give them dirty looks and whine about them behind their backs. Both Santorum and Gingrich are the most blood thirsty which is why Santorum won by such a large scale. They just can't wait for other people and other peoples children to kill and die for them. With the exception of Columbia, Jefferson City, St. Louis, and Kansas City, that description of my country pretty much sums up the whole state. So I have a hard time believing Dr. Paul won. The United States government and its people are like an alcoholic in denial. Just like an alcoholic most likely won't quit drinking until circumstances force them to, the United States and its people aren't going to stop terrorizing the world and its citizens until circumstances force us to. They will continue the wonton terror and murder in the name of freedom and Democracy right up until the economy crashes or until other countries ban together and attack us much like the world did against the Axis powers in WWII. Considering my live and let live, small government politics are contrary to the beliefs and voting patterns of the American people as a whole, it will be difficult for me to live anywhere. No matter where I go in this country I will be surrounded by nosy, busy-bodied bully's who want the government to spend my money murdering "furriner's" in far off lands that pose no threat to me and who want to use the power of government to control the lives of everyone around them while demanding that very same government leave them alone. A pox on all their houses. I used to dream of the day DC was nuked until I realized that the American people as a whole hate freedom, liberty, the Constitution, and the notion of small government. Given that it is quite likely that if given an opportunity they would likely replace our form of government with some even worse tyranny. here's the main reason, imo. it's self preservation and economics.
