One thousand veterans and active duty troops will shatter the corporate media hoax that insists members of the American military do not support Ron Paul due to his opposition to the unconstitutional forever war agenda of the establishment.
Despite this myth, the New York Times was obliged to admit reality last December, even if the admission wasnt featured on the front page of the newspaper but instead posted on a remote area of its website.
Representative Ron Paul, the congressman who favors the most minimalist American combat role of any major presidential candidate and who said all of the above quotes, has more financial support from active duty members of the service than any other politician, Timothy Egan wrote.
As of the last reporting date, at the end of September, Paul leads all candidates by far in donations from service members.
This trend has been in place since 2008, when Paul ran for president with a similar stance: calling nonsense at hawk squawk from both parties.
The troops also and not surprisingly support Paul over Obama, who said he would end the wars and bring the troops home and instead expanded the unjustified, illegal and unconstitutional wars started by his predecessor.
The pie chart below shows the break down of support.
The February 20th march on the White House by veterans and active service members in support of Paul is appropriately dubbed Ron Paul is the Choice of the Troops.
The event will begin at noon with a rally at the Washington Monument followed by a march at 2 PM in military squad formation to the White House where a special ceremony to honor troops who have died since the election of Obama will be held.
We will step off towards the White House, turn left on Pennsylvania Ave, and come to a halt at 1600, the Facebook page explains.
We will do an about face, and present a hand salute to a folded American flag for as many seconds as troops have died since President Obama took office, then march silently back to the Washington monument and fall out. We are currently working on arrangements and special guests for a reception that evening.
Aimee Allen, Jordan Page, Golden State and Rebel INC will perform at a concert after the rally and march. It will be held at the Rock N Roll Hotel in Washington.
The march was organized by former Marine Adam Kokesh and Nathan Cox, a U.S. Army veteran. You can get more information on a Facebook page set-up for the event.
Members of the military take an oath to support and defend the Constitution against all enemies, both foreign and domestic, and this is why so many of them back the candidacy of Ron Paul.
Bill Manning, a military veteran who served as a combat pilot in Vietnam, explains in the following video why the men and women who defend America are overwhelmingly lining up behind Ron Paul.

Finally, the troops are giving me something to support.
It sounds like it will be a powerful moment, I hope it gets covered.
First, the law forbids military from appearing in uniform at political campaign events. I expect a lot of active duty servicemen are scheduled to participate in Presidents Day ceremonies organized by their commanders, so this crowd at the White House will probably be almost all civilians.
Second, holding a hand salute for as many seconds as there have been fatalities in the wars since Obama took office would probably exceed 30 minutes (1,800 seconds). I tend to doubt these guys could manage that. Saluting a folded flag is sort of creepy, and I bet some of these guys haven't considered the considerable walking distance between the Washington Monument and the front of the White House.

For how many minutes or seconds do you think you could manage it if they formed groups to salute and groups to stand at attention alternately?

Nowhere in the article does it say the active duty personnel will be in uniform.

It is obvious that not only have you never been in the military, you have never been around the military. You have no idea what you are talking about. As many years as I was in the army I never experienced this. IF a town has a presidents day parade, and IF the post commanding officer decides the post will participate, it will only be a company or two. The MOST I've ever seen was a battalion. That is a relatively small number of people in comparison to how many soldiers are on a post. While sometimes a company or battalion may be tasked to participate, most of the time each unit is tasked to produce x number of men, most of whom are volunteers, but some of which are soldiers who have been given extra duty for getting into trouble.
so this crowd at the White House will probably be almost all civilians.
Considering the number of military installations in and around the DC area that is a silly statement which is wishful thinking based upon your own partisanship.
Saluting a folded flag is sort of creepy
As a war mongering Democrat who despises the men and women of our armed forces and relishes the thought of them dying uselessly it is not surprising that you do not understand that the flag is a representation of those who have died under your presidents watch.

Thanks. That was a thunderously good response to a truly creepy post.
Shoonra must be on the payroll. Few would return to a place like this to get pasted on a regular basis for nothin'.

Too bad you are an isralie firster. You haven't a clue what a real comrade is capable of doing while honoring a fallen comrade. Just think of the men guarding the tomb of the unknown soldier, guarding it 24/7 in all kinds of weather. You aren't worthy enough to lick their boots. You have proven to all here on this forum what a despicable person you really are.

"As planned, when the march arrived in front of the White House, veterans did an "about face" and then the "colors were presented". The flag was then folded-up as is the custom to be presented to widow or another family member of a fallen soldier. The assembly was instructed to render a salute and hold it for as many seconds as there have been returning veterans that have committed suicide while Obama has been in office. This portion lasted approximately 8 minutes. Then they went to "parade rest" and observed silent prayer for as many seconds as members of the military have died overseas while Obama has been Commander In Chief. This portion of ceremony lasted approximately 20 minutes."
And why do you suppose that the local and national TV news didn't cover it? Evidently, because they don't support our Troops and our Veterans and our Constitution.

The Playlist has been updated to 27 videos, total run time 2:51:38. I don't know why clicking the link above didn't start with the first video but here's a link to the list page: http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL604A2F378EBE9754. Clicking the Play All button in the top left corner there seems to work right or can select from the list to screen particular videos. By that method, can click the title bar at the bottom-middle of the video screen to return to the Playlist page; can also click the up/down arrows-box in the bottom-right corner of the video screen to see the vids and titles that way or lower that view.
Am embedding it here for convenience with an adult language advisory in a few places. Can also click the white box on the screen below to scroll right or left through the list and read the titles here.
One of the videos [#17] runs 55 1/2 mins and has more continuous coverage of the speakers and the event, except at the White House. Cpl/Spc Jesse Thorsen of the CNN controversy is one of the speakers there at the 25:00 min. mark. Explains in video #22 in the list that he was demoted after speaking at Ron Paul's political rally in uniform but says he was told that it was because of a "slotting issue" (re: wasn't said to be a directly related punishment for that). Here is a short video selection at #5 in the list:
