The military is blowing smoke up their asses in an attempt to scare active duty soldiers. Active duty personnel are allowed to participate in political rally's as long as they are not in uniform. Besides what are they going to do harass everyone with short hair? Even if they demand to see Id all you have to do is leave your id card at home and give them your drivers license.

YouTube link for the video: US Military Issues Warning to Ron Paul Supporters Uploaded by AdamKokesh on Feb 16, 2012 The full text of the email can be found at: Compare this brouhaha to the prestigous treatment (by Congress and the media, et al.) of active-duty Naval Reserve, John Kerry, appearing in Army fatigues as a Winter "Soldier" -- not a Winter "Sailor" but impersonating a Soldier during his activities as a Viet Nam War Protester. Odd how that was overlooked for him as no problem, legally or otherwise -- not even while making his official statements on the Military before Congress. My understanding is that this does not even become a Ron Paul rally-event anyway [at the White House] until after the ceremonial public salute in honor of our dead, which active duty Military and Veterans should be able to attend without vindictive flack about it, as well as the rally afterward. Active duty military were invited but don't have to march to the White House to participate in the honor ceremony there. If they want to have a meetup in front of the White House, then Veterans and civilians march from the Washington Monument to that location for the observance, there should be no objection to their peaceful assembly together in an orderly fashion to salute in the opposite direction of the White House. Saluting in the direction of the White House is what would be like a display of political partisanship in support of Obama, rather than a show of respect and honor for our casualties of War since the last "changing of the Unconstitutional-guards" at our White House. Ron Paul and his supporters respect the Constitution as our rightful form of government -- that means: including what pertains therein to War -- and that's not supposed to be a "partisan" issue just because those who don't want to posture as if that's somehow a political affront to them (and/or to whatever particular party/party member is currently acting as administrator of our Presidency); and are offended especially by gatherings of Ron Paul people visibly demonstrating their respects. Not our fault if others refuse to do so for their partisan reasons or whatever. At 14:22 in this video, Adam Kokesh says specifically that Veterans for Ron Paul 2012 are going to march on the White House: Adam Kokesh Debate Party 1:8:12 part 1 of 2. I'm not happy. You're welcome, christine. :) Was looking for a recent radio interview at his site (adamvstheman.com) and couldn't find it but there was an update that says: "Former Misfits frontman Michale Graves endorses Ron Paul! Will perform for vets after party!" There's also a video interview with him - a Punk-rocker and I think Rebel INC. is a Punk-band too. I'm not a Punk-fan myself but that's the news on the events from there.

As a reminder, active duty personnel are prohibited by DoD Directive 1344.10 paragraph 4.1.2.10 from marching in a partisan political parade regardless of whether they are in uniform or civilian clothes. Reservists not on active duty and retirees may not march in uniform pursuant to paragraph 4.1.4. Reservists not on active duty and retirees may march in civilian clothes provided that they do not otherwise act in a manner that could reasonably give rise to the inference or appearance of official sponsorship, approval, or endorsement.
