It is the principle of the thing. If you allow government to tell you what you can or cannot do to yourself in one area, they will encroach into another. It is the nature of govt to expand, the nose under the tent principle.

Don't you get tired of the constant battle on so many political fronts? Of course you do. The reason, government must be constantly monitored, checked against basic principles, and guarded against their intrusion. You simply cannot allow them to tell you what you can or cannot do to yourself, or they will begin to take that "right" and stretch it to the point we are at now.

Tobacco, alcohol, salt, fatty foods, hydrogenated oil, coconut oil, pepper. All things that the govt has no business disallowing people to ingest, but they do. The only way to get them out of this intrusive mindset, is with the principle, "I OWN ME".

It is not my fault that society taxes others to pay for my bad choices. It is societies fault for intruding into that area that is my responsibility. It is my friends and relatives that can be emotionally hurt by my choices. So what?, government should not be in the business of protecting people from emotional hurt. If government uses "hurt" to family as a reason to control ME, what is the end game? Why cannot they disallow homosexuality, because it hurts family and friends? How about outlawing pre-marital sex? Pregnancy without insurance? Pregnancy outside of marriage? Too many children for government to handle? We must draw a line between govt and ourself, and the place to draw it is a principled on. I OWN ME, butt out and leave me alone.

Exactly. It is none of the government's business what I want to snort, smoke, eat, ingest, or rub in my belly button. It is none of the government's business who I associate with or what I have to say on any given issue. However, in the current climate government, with behind the scenes manipulation, it is increasingly the case that private affairs are governed by increasingly tyrannical government.

Generally speaking, of course.

Generally and literally. I am also generally opposed to drug use even though I despise the so-called "War On Drugs" as it has been little more than an excuse to tyrannize innocent people while keeping the competition to the "in cartels" in check. It also helps with the profit margin that the CIA and the rest of the elites enjoy from the drug trade. As long as an individual is taking no action which infringes upon the liberty of another it is none of the government's damn business. Courts, Coinage, and Defense - no more, no less.

Good question. In high school I flunked typing. I had a block at 35 wpm. Now, when I'm really cookin' probably 60 to 80. Sometimes I actually get slowed down by the keyboard.

I use the dvorak keyboard layout. The standard Qwerty keyboard (named for the top row of keys) was allegedly made the standard layout because the original kingpin who monopolized typewriter manufacturing had this layout. The layout was supposedly chosen because his sales guys, who of course couldn't type, could give a reasonably impressive and quick demo by typing "typewriter" --- because all the letters required to type it are on the top row. In fact the layout might have been designed to slow typists down because typing too fast on those mechanical machines could cause them to jam -- something obviously not much of a concern on computer keyboards.

Mr. Dvorak invented a new layout which puts the most commonly used keys, like vowels on the left hand home keys, and the most common consonants on the right side home keys. Second most used are on the top row and least used on the bottom row. They are strategically positioned so you most often switch between left and right hand with each letter when typing which also increases speed.

Takes getting used to, but I've been using dvorak for about the last 14 years or so. The motor skills are the same so the switch is purely in your brain. Both windows and linux allow the option. I occasionally gotta do qwerty when on other computers but part of my brain remembers it. Gotta watch the keyboard then but can still type okay.

Obviously, you are a dangerous oddball. I intend to lobby congress to outlaw your new-fangled and confusing keyboard.

Access to all the vowels with one hand? We can't have that.
