4um is unique in my experience. Every other forum I have ever posted on has been subject to flame wars, personal attacks, massive disinformation, and just general crudity. I think it is not just the civility though that sets 4um apart. It is the people who post here - a bunch of cantankerous, obstreperous, free thinkers, who can generally remain civil even in the midst of strong disagreement. Of course there are exceptions and there have been trolls who have tried to take up residence, but they never last - they're either fried or shown the door. 4um is a self organizing system, with a few "gentle" "adjustements" by christine from time to time. :-)

You're right of course - there are exceptions and in my defense no generalization is always 100%. However, while there are outbursts the difference between 4um and every other forum I've posted on is that it is usually civil if not agreeable. So, now where was I?
