The fate of Osama bin Laden's remains have been called into question after emails leaked from an intelligence analysis firm say the body of the terror leader was actually sent to the U.S. for cremation. Terrorist: Osama bin Laden was killed on May 1, 2011 in the now-famous raid by Navy SEAL Team Six at his secret Pakistan compound

Terrorist: Osama bin Laden was killed on May 1, 2011 in the now-famous raid by Navy SEAL Team Six at his secret Pakistan compound

According to the emails, the Al Qaeda boss was shot and killed during the famous Navy SEAL Team Six raid on his compound in Abbottabad, Pakistan, was transported back to the U.S. and cremated.

The emails were allegedly obtained by the hacker group Anonymous from Stratfor, an organisation dealing with analysis of intelligence and geopolitical analysis.

It's also known as the 'Shadow CIA'.

Last week, Anonymous announced that it had gotten access to 2.7million of the firm’s confidential correspondences, and said they could provide 'the smoking gun for a number of crimes'.

The hackers said Stratfor, based in Austin, Texas, were 'clueless' when it came to database security.

After bin Laden was killed in the famous raid in Pakistan on May 2 2011, the Obama administration said his body was buried at sea off the USS Carl Vinson - in accordance with Islamic tradition.

But in a particular set of emails given to WikiLeaks, the firm’s vice president for intelligence, Fred Burton, says he doubts the official White House version of what happened to bin Laden's body.

Stratfor’s vice-president for intelligence, Fred Burton, says the body was 'bound for Dover, [Delaware] on [a] CIA plane' and 'onward to the Armed Forces Institute of Pathology in Bethesda [Maryland]'.

Also, one other thing. This was up on Drudge, as the headline this morning. After about 15 minutes, it was about Super Tuesday, and NOTHING about Osama on the site. Drudge is likely coopted.

Not much of a smoking gun.

Stratfor supposedly thought his body was being air-freighted back to the States (if these emails weren't forged).

Stratfor is little more than a glorified blog with some analytic articles. Kind of a homegrown Texas geostrategic operation from I've been able to gather.

They may be more credible than Debka but that isn't saying much. They also have not made clear what information they had about the transport of the body and where they got the info.

It's awfully convenient when the supposed intel sources are confidential.

Stratfor refuses to explain any of it and insist some of Wikileaks' published emails are forged. They have released all their site's content for free currently and the founder/CEO of Stratfor (a total tool) offers the following explanation.
George Friedman on Email Theft and the Wikileaks Release

Transcript:

I'm George Friedman, founder and CEO of Stratfor.

As most of you know, in December thieves hacked into Stratfor data systems and stole a large number of company emails, as well as private information of Stratfor subscribers and friends. Today Wikileaks is publishing the emails that were stolen in December. This is a deplorable, unfortunate -- and illegal -- breach of privacy.

Some of the emails may be forged or altered to include inaccuracies. Some may be authentic. We will not validate either, nor will we explain the thinking that went into them. Having had our property stolen, we will not be victimized twice by submitting to questions about them.

The disclosure of these emails does not mean that there has been another hack of Stratfor's computer and data systems. Those systems, which we have rebuilt with enhanced security measures, remain secure and protected.

The release of these emails is, however, a direct attack on Stratfor. This is another attempt to silence and intimidate the company, and one we reject. As you can see, emails sent to many people about my resignation were clearly forged.

We do not know what else has been manufactured. Stratfor will not be silenced, and we will continue to publish the geopolitical analysis our friends and subscribers have come to rely on.

As we have said before, Stratfor has worked to build good sources in many countries around the world, as any publisher of geopolitical analysis would do.

We are proud of the relationships we have built, which help our analysts better understand the issues in many of these countries through the eyes of people who live there.

We have developed these relationships with individuals and partnerships with local media in a straightforward manner, and we are committed to meeting the highest standards of professional and ethical conduct.

Stratfor is not a government organization, not is it affiliated with any government. The emails are private property. Like all private emails, they were written casually, with no expectation that anyone other than the sender and recipient would ever see them. And clearly, as with my supposed resignation letter, some of the emails may be fabricated or altered.

Stratfor understands that this hack and the fallout from it have created serious difficulties for our subscribers, friends and employees. We again apologize for this incident, and we deeply appreciate the loyalty that has been shown to Stratfor since last year's hack.

We want to assure everyone that Stratfor is recovering from the hack. We will continue to do what we do best: produce and publish independent analysis of international affairs. And we will be back in full operation in the coming weeks. We look forward to continuing to serve you.

One must wonder if this is not more disinformation. For an intelligence operation to be credible, even a private one, they would have to know who really runs the world and that should be reflected in the documents.

That leaves 2 possibilities.

1. Stratfor is incompetent.

2. The release was intentional disinformation.

Personally I lean towards "2".

2. The release was intentional disinformation.

Maybe. Or Wikileaks/Anonymous is a CIA front. Or Wikileaks is forging material just to make some news.

I am about 97% certain that WeakeyLinks is someone's intel operation - likely CIA/Tavistock.

Or they are patsies serving multiple purposes. First, spread crucial disinformation as a setup for other CIA projects. Second, provide fall guys and justification for the huge push to silence any whistleblowers permanently.
