Agreed. I notice that earlier crop "circles" were just that. Simple circles. Now they are getting quite complex. Maybe the aliens doing this have been taking some more advanced classes in crop art? Maybe the next generation of work will let them play pac-man or something.

That is cool. I find them all fascinating and I draw no conclusion other that they are not made by farmers or drunks from the local pub.

Yes, I've seen that one before. If I recall correctly on the close up level it was pretty clearly a work of man, but the others, the ones that appear to be actual phenomena, show physical changes that do not show up in the mechanically produced ones - and they are mathematically precise.

I don't know of any farmers who have the time, energy, or skill to knock out a complex pattern that destroys some of their cash crop. Most would be doing good to hack out a crude "John Deere!".

Likely so, and not only that the stems of the plants in the real thing undergo chemical changes and they appear to become pliable and smoothly bent - not smashed down according to the researchers who have studied them.

You know the firefox circle is manmade though, right?

If you look at it in any detail, it's far cruder than those made by higher beings.

Pretty much. There are researchers who investigate them every year, but they simply get no coverage in the Lamestream media. The lamestream media will generally only cover the few crude ones that are clearly man made and then use that as a strawman to ridicule the others which are much more sophisticated and have other measurable anomalous characteristics.

Various attempts to debunk the crop circles that appear each year, and with greater and greater complexity, have mostly fallen flat for anyone who has objectively dug into it. While a few phonies have been staged the people who have been researching this for some time can generally diagnose them very quickly as the phonies cannot duplicate the anomalous changes in the plants and soil. As well they cannot duplicate the precision. While from a distance some of the phonies look good they fail when examined up close.

Certainly there does seem to be some kind of spiritual component - if only as an expression of sentience.

I get there is some mystery surrounding crop circles. And no I don't believe they are created by extraterrestrials. There is no logic behind that. I get that they, assuming the exist, probably don't think the same way we do but we are talking about beings that supposedly are intelligent enough to have interstellar space travel but resort to art in our food supply for communication. Sorry I just can't go there.

And as I commented earlier there is insufficient data to explain them.

If dealing with a truly alien sentience we cannot make the unwarranted, and unsupported, assumption that they think as we do.

What we can observe objectively, in the ones validated as not planted fakes, is:

1. They evidence great precision.

2. They embody an implied knowledge of advanced mathematics including fractal geometry.

3. The plants undergo real measurable physical changes.

4. The soil evidences real measurable physical changes.

5. They have a clear and present artistic element.

However, we do not know who is doing them or why.

it may be that symbols themselves have power, as detailed in matsuro emoto's memory of water research. with the mandala hypothesis, these symbols would therefore effect the earths energy field in some way. perhaps they are places at certain points, like ley lines, to affect telluric currents, in a form of geomancy. as well, dan davison's 'shape power' may have some clues, as form itself has energetic resonant properties.
