Time Bomb Ticking away is a time bomb that will blow up on some dull day
The money was borrowed and wasted in a most unusual way
Fighting abroad for a piece of ground far from your home town
It isn't like anyone asked you how you'd be able to pay
Tired of hearing that the economy is strong and there's no pain

And then one day you'll find trillions in cash has been borrowed against you
No one told you to sell before the markets resumed their downward ways
And you save and you save to make a better life for your son but he's homeless
So he's moving back to a room in your house yet again
Your son is the same in a relative way, but he's older
Short of a job and one day further in debt
Every grace period is getting shorter, never seem to find the time
Plans to pay minimum or maybe half put you in a riddled bind
Hanging on in quiet desperation is your only way
The money's gone, the music's over, all that saving was in vain
Bills, bills again
I like to pay them when I can
