I once had a Crown Victoria, and it took me two days to change the water pump. I had no idea how to do anything with the engine, even with the repair manual. My Windstar van broke down because the plugs were worn out. It was a transverse V-6 -- except that it's not a V-6. The cyclinders are essentially in a flat plane -- opposed to each other. The front three came out no problem. The back three I had to do by feel, after taking off a bunch of stuff off the engine.
I ended up with bruised hands and forearms, cuts, and scapes. My friends were astonished when I showed them what I looked up.
I'm going back to Chevys. I will never own a Ford again.
