I notice that he is now claiming that he was talking about hyperinflation, not inflation. Of course the only one who ever brought up hyperinflation was him and that wasn't until post 15. Magician stated catastrophic inflation, not hyperinflation. You don't have to have hyperinflation in order for it to be catastrophic.

Prior to post 15 he was throwing out the bogus government CPI numbers in an effort to show that inflation was not a problem at all. That may work for those idiots who get their news from the MSM, but for those of us who dig deeper it is a laugh. It has been documented and in fact is well known even among the MSM that the CPI formula and the "basket" the government uses to determine the CPI has been changed on a number of occasions since the Reagan administration. In fact, many have said that the changes have been so great that they are not an accurate indication of inflation for the average American. Apples and oranges. The government has also manipulated the unemployment numbers and other key indicators as well in order to make things look better than they are.

Economist John Williams has a site called shadowstats.com that still tracks all of the indicators like they used to be tracked. It shows the real numbers. He also does a good job of explaining how and why these numbers have been manipulated.

Yeah, I noticed the ground moving a bit under his feet but there's always a bit of drift in these chat room threads.

I'm trying to think of anyone (who isn't employed by the Fed) who considers the CPI or the government's dishonest unemployment numbers as anything other than executive branch propaganda, consistent in administrations of both parties.

Obviously, he's got you hooked. You ought to just go over there and post to him.

His homebrew Keynesianism is really bringing out the Hayek in you, eh?     : )

I quit posting there when Moldi-Box began stealth banning Ron Paul supporters during the last election cycle. As a small government conservative who denounces the big government, perpetual war, and police state her and her sycophants support, I will not give her the satisfaction of banning me, stealth or otherwise. So, no thank you. I just do the cyber-equivalent of pointing and laughing at them.
