In every weather disaster, there seems to be an image or object that survives, even when everything else around it has collapsed. Sometimes, that image is the American flag. Here are some gripping photos of Old Glory [sic] still standing after last weekend's tornadoes passed.
Thurman, Iowa
A torn flag flies over the war memorial in Thurman, Iowa, Sunday, April 15, 2012. A large part of the town in the western part of the state was destroyed Saturday night, but no one was injured or killed. Fremont County Emergency Management Director Mike Crecelius said about 75 percent of the 250-person town was destroyed.

This is how differently I see it. I guess I'm just not patriotic... These pics show nothing about how fucked up this country is. It is appropriate to show the flag in a destroyed area.
