The third name on your ballot in November will be…..

By Jonathan Karl, Richard Coolidge & Sherisse Pham | Power Players – Tue, Apr 17, 2012

Spinners and Winners

Americans will soon have their choice for the 2012 presidential race: Mitt Romney versus Barack Obama. But one group, Americans Elect, is determined to give voters a third choice for president. Americans Elect is out to shake up the voting process, taking nominations and votes for a third party candidate online, and promising to put a candidate on the ballot of every state come November.

The group is telling voters, "you've got somewhere else to go," said Elliot Ackerman, Americans Elect's chief operating officer. "We're going to put a small-i, independent, on the ballot in all 50 states, and every registered voter in this country - they don't have to be a Republican or a Democrat - they can participate."

The group's top declared candidate is Buddy Roemer, who at the time of writing had just under 3,200 supporters. Rep. Ron Paul, R-Tex, is listed as a draft candidate and has about double the number of supporters; Paul is currently seeking the Republican nomination for president. Former Utah governor Jon Huntsman and Bernie Sanders are also listed as draft candidates.

But does the group think any of their candidates -- declared, draft, or otherwise -- can actually win the general election? And how will Americans Elect support them through the 2012 race? Check out this week's Spinners and Winners to find out.

Elections have devolved into something resembling fantasy sports leagues. Most voters have no grasp of actual issues (beyond identity politics), they just seem to think (after a fashion) they need to vote for 'the winners'.

The media has latched on to the minds of our young and taken away any critical thinking skills they might have had. RP has made some headway into the thinking college set, but the numbers favor statism.

If Paul is anywhere on the ballot, even at the bottom or on the backside, I WILL REGISTER AND VOTE FOR PRESIDENT.

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”

Yes.

We need A LEADER CHRISTINE.

Real Americans are out there, leaderless. It is now or never.

Whatever comes I will NOT vote for Bushbama or Oromney. Hell could freeze solid and I still would not vote for either of the swine.

Oromney has flip flopped so many times that you need a Diebold to keep track as to which side he is on today.

Bushbama has the advantage in that he just lies. He'll say something off his teleprompter one day and then do the opposite the next.

Back in January, the Washington Post carried an article calling,"Ron Paul the most dangerous man in the Republican party".

Here was their thinking at the time.....

Note the last paragraph in particular...

"Should Paul decide that his cause is best championed via a third party bid for president, the impact would be disastrous for Republicans next fall.

How disastrous? Take a look at the Washington Post/ABC News poll conducted in mid-December. In it, President Obama and Romney are tied at 47 percent in a traditional two-way race. Add Paul in as a third party candidate and Obama takes 42 percent, Romney 32 percent and Paul 21 percent. That’s a pretty stark difference in potential outcomes.

There is one x-factor that may lead Paul to accept a negotiated detente with the GOP rather than go to all-out war as a third party candidate. And that x factor’s name is Rand Paul, the Kentucky Republican senator and son of Ron Paul".
