I remember when I was 11 or 12 years old and learning AB had been on TV since the 1950's. It's a shame I didn't realize Barry Manilow's version of the theme song wasn't the original. Drove me nuts for like a week, he didn't look that old. Thank God for Moms!

We had a local TV version of Bandstand that I went to with a girlfriend as a High School freshman/sophomore. It was recorded on a week day and then played on TV after Bandstand w/Dick Clark in Saturdays.

My girl friend had an interesting last name - Glasscock ! We called her brother "Crystal Peter" !

RIP Dick Clark.
