Head of the Public Relations department of Iran's Red Crescent Society (IRCS) Pouya Hajian said Sunday that the 85-ton batch comprising flour, powder milk and rice arrived in Sunan International Airport in Pyongyang on the same day, and was delivered to North Korea's Red Cross officials, IRIB reported.
North Koreas South Hwanghae Province has recently been hit with a severe famine.
The acute famine was reportedly caused by heavy rains and flooding last year, which sharply reduced the harvest of crops in the region.
North Korea was struck by a terrible famine in the 1990s that killed many people.
