I am never been in Starbucks in my life. I went with a friend last night (Saturday) and found there are crazies in the place, specifically guys who bring their laptops and use the wi-fi while sitting their alone and muttering to themselves (after buying exactly one coffee which they nursed for two hours). All of left five minutes before closing.

There was one young woman, early 20s, who was there alone reading a book while marking in it.

I don't think I'll go there anymore. The coffe was really expensive anyway -- $1.65 for a small cup. And while it wasn't bad, it wasn't Jamaician Blue Mountain, either.

That stuff used to go thru me more efficiently than beer. It was like it shrunk my bladder.

Somebody ought to tell the truth about the Bible. The preachers dare not, because they would be driven from their pulpits. Professors in colleges dare not, because they would lose their salaries. Politicians dare not. They would be defeated. Editors dare not. They would lose subscribers. Merchants dare not, because they might lose customers. Men of fashion dare not, fearing that they would lose caste. Even clerks dare not, because they might be discharged. And so I thought I would do it myself... Robert Ingersoll

they used to have a better program, where you had to have a username & login & a requirement of card activity (purchase) each month. Now. they let anyone login & state their wifi is for customers

One guy used his laptop while muttering to himself. The second one's eyes never left his screen. The third guy had no laptop but was reading a magazine and talking to himself. I didn't see any of them buy anything but all had empty Starbuck's cups in front of them.

If I was the manager I would ban them, call the cops, whatever.

The girl was apparently reading a textbook and studying.

I thought, what kind of nuts hang out by themselves at Starbucks on a Saturday night? What kind of complete losers are this people?

Well, being in a coffee shop at least allows for the potential of interaction with another human being.

They could be sitting at home with a cat.

Muttering lap top guy: Who the hell is that guy staring at all of us? That creep keeps casing the joint and checking us out. Where the hell did he come from? Probably an escapee from the mental institution.....

Thought dialogue of guy who kept his eyes on the screen: Something is wrong in this coffee shop tonight. I feel that some freaky guy keeps watching me. I don't want to take my eyes off the screen to make eye contact cause he might be frickin' crazy. He's obviously a complete loser.

Guy reading magazine dialogue: Who is that freaky dude who keeps checking me out. Is he completely gay? He couldn't be more obvious while checking out every guy in this place. Why is he at Starbucks? He should go to the gay bar down the street.

I would rather be sitting in a Starbucks sipping coffee with a few bookworms sitting around talking some intellectual conversation than sitting in a bar sipping on a Martini and getting passes from dudes that pass gases after they've downed a few brews.

Oh man, you are going to the wrong bars.

bookworms

A guy flipping though a magazine while talking to himself and then riding home on his bicycle, loaded down with his earthly belongings, is no bookworm.
