Apparently Jethro already ate a big portion yesterday. I would like to take up a collection for Cyni so he can get some medical help to try and overcome his hatred of Ron Paul. Anyone who would like to donate, just say so. Cyni has been carrying a lot of hatred for the past 4 years and I worry about his health.
I'm still eating crow this morning. I just watched a 'tube from the OK Republican convention. The Paul people got dumped over by the establishment, and RP issues a statement that "we" have to show more respect and decorum at such events? Respect and decorum have given us a $15 trillion dollar debt and "we" should be rightfully pissed at the establishment for putting us here. The establishment GOP'ers, at any level, deserve a boot in the ass and that's what I signed up for. I was left at the altar once again by Mr. Manners.

Jethro... The Kings English is not understood by far too many people. To assuage their misery from being left at the alter one more time, they pretend Ron did not say what he said. Ron Paul was running for Rand Paul from day one, some need to accept that fact and get over it. It is not that the majority had a great deal of money or effort in it anyway. "Ron Paul sent an e-mail to supporters Monday saying he would..... stop campaigning in states that haven't voted yet,....... but he's still trying to "win delegates, and carry a strong message to the Republican National Convention that Liberty is the way of the future." In other words, he's taking on the strategy that everyone plotted out as the only real way forward weeks ago: leveraging his delegate count to get his campaign issues heard at the convention........ (or maybe get his son Rand Paul more prominence.)....... Essentially, he's embraced a reality under which everyone else has been operating.......

I see it as a fathers love for his son. Very strong bond. Whom better to leave your political legacy to than your son??? I see nothing wrong with that. When the final gavel goes down AB, everyone will have their answer. Denial of reality would be absurd. Over and over for years, Ron has sworn fidelity to the Republican party, he tells us he is part and parcel of the system and his Son will take up the cause......AS A SYSTEM REPUBLICAN....
There was absolutely no reason for his campaign to say a thing. We all knew the game plan, or so I thought. I'm thinking this thing has gotten away from him and that he doesn't want his name associated with what is going to happen at Tampa this August. I'm reading with him, or without, the Paul delegates are going to raise hell. At least it could make for good TeeVee.
I think your denial of decades of consistency for a message of liberty and our Constitution is absurd. Ron Paul didn't swear fidelity to the Republican party when he refused to endorse McCain in 2008 or when he ran for POTUS on the Libertarian ticket in 1988. My feeling is that the RNC is a commercial enterprise and Ron Paul was simply grand-fathered into it. He gives many Republicans temporary hope that conservative values can win the day, but when the socialist gavel comes down Paul takes a leave of absence while the socialists spend away !

Ron Paul is a Republican because that's how you win elections. That's it. He knows first hand that the 2-party system makes running outside of the R/D circuit a complete waste of time. The R-party is a vehicle for Ron Paul and nothing more. Ron Paul is an idealist but with a very practical streak as well. He knows what battles can be won and which ones can't. That is why he has owned a seat in Congress for so very long even in the face of the GOP's resentment the whole time. I'm amazed that anyone can acknowledge RP's 30 years of consistency and proven love of Constitution, freedom and rule of law can so quickly abandon him and question all he is about when a single decision is made that they don't understand.
I think Ron Paul has been very consistent. I'm not willing to assign nefarious reasons to this action yet. There have been many reports of his campaign running out of money. He does not have the war chests that Romney and Obama have. It make sense to stop spending when you run out of money. Good Lord, isn't that the kind of man we want and have been supporting? What he is doing is working. Abandoning the cause now because he stopped spending himself into a hole is just wrong. Is it Ron Paul we support or his ideas? Does anyone honestly believe that the global elites whose wealth and power depend on manipulation of the global chess board would leave something like the Presidency up to chance?
ff, who the f is running his campaign? I assumed he was broke long before they blundered into making this press release. Despite the lack of funds things were going swimmingly well. I have a feeling RP is surrounded by Republican hacks, which is *always* a giant mistake. I also think he fears that Tampa will embarrass him and #1 son.
Is it Ron Paul we support or his ideas? farm... Passing even a political legacy from Father to son has never been nefarious. IT IS INDEED RONS IDEAS WE SUPPORT NOT RON. Ron has always had an excellent message, but he has never been the needed messenger. For example, Norman Thomas of the past, ran for President six times, had an excellent platform, was a gentleman first class, but again he was NOT the needed messenger.

Indeed. Indeed. Ab, when Ron speaks of medicare, social security etc, everyone knows about what he is speaking. When he speaks of wars and bring the troops home, we are all with him. When Ron speaks of the Federal Reserve, the eyes of most people glaze over, same for gold standard etc etc. The masses are made up of people like myself, the lowest half of society. We understand peanut butter but not caviar. Ron Paul is the best since Ike for me.

the average american doesnt have a clue what a delegate is. The message SENT yesterday by paul is that he's QUIT campaigning.Like it or not, the majority believes he's dropped out. WHY else would he have sent that message? Its over.

Right there. He's being advised by GOP hacks. He knows damn well what the GOP is. Why he continues to harbor this misguided sense of loyalty to them is beyond comprehension. After the way they've treated him and his supporters, as far as I'm concerned, he owes them nothing.
