I can't listen to the whole thing. If he's going to do this, why not *at least* wait until Romney wins the nomination, if he does that. Does he not know about Ron's delegate strategy? Why do it now? Did he have a fight with Ron? Not that that's good either -- it's not, as Romney won't do anything good he may promise -- but why now? Rand seems to have forgotten how corrupt everyone but Ron is. Very disappointing.

And this is THE show that Rand Paul chooses to endorse Romney?" Question at 5:36 in the video: "Will you go out on the campaign trail for Governor Romney?" Answer: "Yes, and uh, I think uh that I can be an asset in solidifying the conservative base of the party. But I also think that uh myself, my father and the movement that he started attracts a lot of Independents also. So a lot of these young people aren't necessarily the conservative base." He must be talking about the residual Neocon-basement of the GOP. The real conservative base of the Republican party has been solidified all along for Ron Paul. Sounds to me like he's on a Faustian-mission to hoodwink Independent young people into defecting from his father, Champion of the Constitution, to Mitt Romney the RINO - a Republican In Name Only and Fake-Conservative. I don't think they'll much appreciate him insulting their intelligence and loyalty so. This is just more evidence that the Constitutional base of the Republican party has no real representation in the lowdown, RINO and Neocon infiltrated GOP. Break the Conventions - Keep the Commandments - G.K.Chesterson He's better off, or everyone is better off, if he stays in the senate a few terms and gains some clout. As a VP he'll do little good. At least that's providing that he's still one of the good guys.

Looks like Ron may get VP, hopefully Mittens will pull a William Henry Harrison, and Rand will be lining himself for Prez. in '16. I think Ron wants to avoid the Paulians from getting their heads bashed in Tampa, and perhaps he will be a VP not unlike Cheney, who actually ran the show. Time will tell.
Ron Paul made a deal with the devil, Rand will be the beneficiary. That "deal" was consummated many months ago. Anyone shifting their allegiance to Rand is making a huge mistake.

He has been in office a short enough time that he could conceivably do some good still, but with his dad out of the picture I think that is increasingly unlikely. Ron himself is unfortunately surrounded by people unworthy of his intellect. His own campaign manager, Jesse Benton who did a terrible job TWICE, has been chained to Ron via some marriage into the family. Ron's misguided sense of loyalty is his undoing. It's a no-win situation. Only if Ron Paul was a loner with no ties to family to bribe or threaten could he be uncorrupted or uncompromisable. Of course, that would make him an utter unelectable freak in the eyes of the media and public. It would be like being a declared atheist. Vote absentee. It is a paper ballot Democrats don't mind war as long as they can have big government. Republicans don't mind big government as long as they can have war. For your theory to hold true, Rand would have to be Romney's VP, or be given a power position in his potential cabinet. I seriously doubt that the Establishment Pubes want anything to do with RPs folks, most of whom won't be bothering to support Romney.
My theory months ago that Ron Was not running for president sadly proved to be correct. I also stated we would have to wait to see what the payoff would be for Ron. If either pulls off VP, Sec State or Def. no further "proof" needs be added. Myself, I see Rand as the winner as VP, Sec State or def. From the past behavior of Rons supporters, MANY DIE HARDS WILL NOT STAND UP, RATHER THEY WILL BEND OVER...AGAIN. Shameful, the SYSTEM HAS WON AGAIN.
I think it's likely that that the Establishment Pukes will try to throw them some kind of bone. Unless they can rip 'Bama a major hemorrhage between now and November, they'll need the damn votes. But Rand Paul is not on anybody's short list and that list is depressing reading. It's like being orphaned for the holidays by your folks and you get to pick which drunk uncle you're gonna stay with. Come to think of it, I'd rather hang out with my drunk uncle that spend the summer with someone like Rob Portman. Are you suggesting that RPs supporters will now be inclined to vote for Romney?

The "bone" was long ago agreed upon. The Pauls are not naive enough to wait until after the fact to see what their pay off will be. It is signed, sealed and will be delivered. Too many people are forgetting , the Pauls are republican politicians.

I am, or I guess I was. I performed my last affirmative act in that regard by voting for RP in the primary and didn't stick around for the caucus. This doggie wants red meat and not scraps off the master's table. I don't know what Romney could offer many of us. A surprize pick of Rand would be a gesture in that direction, but I don't think that is likely, and in any case it wouldn't do much to assuage my concerns with respect to the Stormin' Mormon. Now the wifey, she is anybody but 'Bama. She might go that way. I'm stayin' home in November or votin' third party. They WILL DO THEIR DUTY. Sorry my friend, but you're wildly of the mark. Me too, but I won't be bothering to vote. My last presidential vote was for Buchanan in '00 when he ran under the Reform party banner. My last pubbie vote was for Bush #41 in 88. My political soul is clean.

A bigger statement will be made by being registered to vote but abstaining to do so. Low voter turnouts is something that the media and both wings of the party pay attention to. Neither Mitt nor Obama will save the country, it is toast. But if Obama's re-election destroys the sham of the GOP and the two party farce there will be some satisfaction in that. If Romney wins, the illusion continues, and fools on both sides will say "Just wait until 2016!" Democrats don't mind war as long as they can have big government. I think you seriously overestimate the number of Ron Paul supporters who would vote for Romney/GOP-diehards. Olbomber will be re-elected.

Latest polls agree. They were taken before the Paul endorsement. Before Paul there were 5 per cent undecided. If polls shift, Paul has had an effect.

I didn't support RP in '08, in fact I intentionally left this 4um for nearly a month so as not to rain on their parade. I supported him this time, and got burnt. That said, your assumption that RP folks are going to vote for Romney is off the mark. Did they vote for McCain in '08? All Rand did with this announcement is blow up the Liberty movement RP created. As to his motive, well, I'm thinking he's a politician as you are found of saying, but I'm open to any and all hunches.
Nearly sixty million voted for McKook Jethro. Sixty million. Romney surely is more palatable than McKook and Obongo is still black. If Oromney wins it will be because of democrat votes, last time they went black. Not all democrats are that hide bound.

A no vote for Obongo is in fact a vote for Oromney. Note so far there has been no daily public endorsements by republicans for Obongo???? I still say, the system has decided it is time for Obongo to go, one way or another.
