It can be found at http://www.journalnow.com Man charged with rape was deported twice By Patrick Wilson JOURNAL REPORTER Wednesday, November 9, 2005 A Winston-Salem man charged in connection with a series of rapes in Winston-Salem and Greensboro had been deported to Mexico twice, but he returned to the United States, U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement said yesterday. Gilberto Cruz-Hernandez, 24, is being held in the Forsyth County Jail with bond set at $2 million. Immigration agents have a detainer on him, which is a legal device used to hold someone accused of breaking immigration laws. He will be deported again if he is released after serving any sentence he receives for the criminal charges, which include five counts of rape, one count of attempted rape, one count of sexual offense and related burglary charges. Police arrested Cruz-Hernandez in Winston-Salem on Oct. 28 after DNA evidence tested at the state's crime labs linked him to a series of rapes that happened in February in Winston-Salem, a police statement said. A few days later, he was charged in connection with three sexual-assault cases that occurred in Greensboro in May 2004 and January and February 2005. In most of the cases, the attacker's face was covered, and he threatened women with a gun as he attacked them in their apartments and houses, investigators said. Cruz-Hernandez was arrested by federal immigration agents in Greenwood, S.C., in April 1997 and deported to Mexico, ICE said. He was arrested again by border-patrol agents in Douglas, Ariz., in October 2002 and again deported to Mexico. In Winston-Salem, Cruz-Hernandez was living at 385 Camden Ridge Drive. Tax records show that he and a woman have owned that house since February 2004. This guy is illegal and can own property here? I wonder if that woman is illegal also. More BS, bring the troops home and lock down the borders.
The Los Angeles Times had articles several months ago about the mortgage loans designed for illegals; no paystub required, one house for more than one family. There are entire school districts that are largely illegals in SoCal. A year ago May, in San Bernardino and Riverside counties, the Border Patrol rounded-up hundreds of illegals. The news spread like wild-fire and all the children stayed home from school, illegals stayed home from work. School teachers stood in empty classrooms upset that these children would not finish school. Traffic was lighter. Then Asa Hutchison announced that it was all a mistake. The Border Patrol stopped the round ups and everything returned to "normal". Normal is nothing like the 1950s, the 1960s or even the 1970s. Our prison system in California is mostly illegals. There are no jobs for unskilled labor for Americans anymore, the illegals have all the canneries, hotels, car washes, fast food, janitorial, construction jobs. The same thing is happening here in the Carolinas now. We are quickly becoming the next states to need to file "A State of Emergency". My friend was told by the Dept. of Social Services that the state of NC is almost broke due to the massive numbers of illegals abusing the medicaid and food stamp system. No help for the thousands of NC employees who lost their jobs due to outsourcing. All construction you see going on in both North and South Carolina now is mostly illegal Hispanic work crews. It just keeps getting worse. A van load of illegals were picked up today in the county next to the county I live in. The illegals were sent to Charlotte, NC to be processed. I am surprised this happened. The last time deputies had a load of them, they called immigration officals and were told to let them go, the state did not have the money to deport them. They were released! I just wonder how many have been released, the numbers are probably enormous! I bet alot of them are violent criminals, too, just like the NC twice deported, property owning, illegal!
