He did harp about the "platform" a tad too much. Nobody believes that the platform is really that important, especially after watching the "small government" Republicans crap on it for decades. Rand has made strides in some areas of effective legislation to which I must give him kudos: industrial hemp, NDAA, balanced budgets, cutting spending, and his returning half a million dollars to tax payers because he ran his Senate office efficient enough to make a refund. So, we can't throw the baby out with the bath water. He did say many times he would support the GOP nominee when it became evident that the nominee secured the position. We in the freedom movement tend to not have any patience at all when we see things going so badly on a national level. It's one thing if you're generally proud of your country and things are going generally well but with a few things that need to change. It's another when things are so bad there is basically no hope. While some defend Rand, regardless of whether he's somehow got a grand plan we don't know about, I think it's clear that by endorsing Romney, he pretty much chucked cluster bombs into the camps of his and Ron's supporters, and that's a high price to pay for whatever it is he thinks he's going to accomplish by endorsing the putz. It won't be forgotten. His saving grace will be if he somehow proceeds to pull off a hail mary by doing something like making president in 2016 and *does* what Ron Paul promised he would do. In any event, the movement is more than one man. More than Ron and certainly (now) more than Rand. A silver lining of this may be to have more attention be directed toward others on par with Ron in integrity and electability.

I think Rand put himself between a rock and a hard place when he went bantering about with his assurances of endorsing the GOP nominee. In doing so, he under estimated the potential backlash for making such promises. He prides himself on principle, so he had to follow through on what he said he would do I suppose. He really under estimated the passion of his father's supporters on this one. I don't know what he thinks it will accomplish. In his response audio clip posted today, he seemed to be back peddling to some degree on the importance of the endorsement, attempting to accentuate the points of agreement he has found with Mittens no matter how minor while ignoring the fact that Mittins is a flip flopper.
