Everyone knows about Joseph Mengele but the Nazis were pikers compared to the Japanese.
The Nazis were positively civilized compared to the Japanese.
As I"ve mentioned before my father was a Marine Scout/Sniper in the South Pacific. One of his duties was operating behind Japanese lines with the Phillipine Resistance. He said that the Filipinos hated the Japanese with a cold passion because of their brutality - with such charming games as "Catch The Baby" where they would throw a Filipino baby up in the air and then "catch it" on their bayonet. When the Resistance began getting the upper hand they showed the Japanese no mercy. Any Jap that fell into their hands was dead. Period.
