Title: Is it just me or do the Olympic uniform pictures look like they were modeled after old style Nazi or Communist Russia pictures?

Here is the yahoo link to the pictures.

http://news.yahoo.com/lawmakers-want-made-china-u-olympic-uniforms-burned-174456466--abc-news-politics.html

To me the pictures I've seen look like they came straight from Nazi Germany, North Korea, or Communist Russia. They also remind me of those old communist propaganda cartoon drawings that people post every now and then to make a point.

A show of the times I guess. Seig Heil!

I dunno Hayek. They look more like old-style prep school than Chairman Mao or Hitlerjugend. They cost almost two grand a set including the lame beret.

Notice the clever set up. The same bunch that have sold our gigs to China have found an incendiary issue to stoke up a little populist enmity against the same. I look to see more of these kinds of psychological ploys.

"I think they should take all the uniforms, put them in a big pile and burn them and start all over again," Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev., said when asked by ABC News today, "If they have to wear nothing but a symbol that says USA on it, painted by hand, that is what they should wear."

[snip]

Reid said today that the U.S. Olympic committee should be "ashamed of themselves," and "embarrassed," that the items were made in China, especially with people in the textile industry in America who are looking for jobs.

The Congressional reaction on Capitol Hill today extended to both houses and both parties.

"You'd think they know better," Speaker of the House John Boehner, R-OH., said in response to a question from ABC News today.

House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., said that since the Olympic athletes represent the very best in America they should be wearing uniforms made in America.

"They work so hard. They represent the very best, and they're so excellent. It's all so beautiful. And they should be wearing uniforms that are made in America."

Already there is a movement on Capitol Hill to make changes so this does not happen again at future Olympic Games. Sen. Kirsten Gillibrand, D-N.Y., and Rep. Steve Israel, D-N.Y., wrote a letter Thursday morning to the chairman of the U.S. Olympic Committee, Lawrence Probst, calling this revelation "shocking and deeply disappointing" and asking all U.S. team's uniforms be made in America in the future.

I didn't know we had 1/2 a million athletes going to the Olympics. That's how many it would take to keep 1 billion dollars here. I thought free trade and globalization was a good thing.

So the Olympic committee a private org. should buy american but the us govt. doesn't and is trying to sign a treaty, the IPP that will make it illegal require it.

Great research on the Ralph Lauren/Lee Equity Partners/Bain Capital and The Carlyle Group linkage.

The 2012 Summer Olympic berets are reported as a throwback to the Romney run 2002 Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. Recent news on the Carlyle Group:

Mitt used Canadian made berets for the 2002 Salt Lake City Olympics. If you've seen one D&R globalist anti-American traitor, you've seen em all!

The must-have souvenir of the (Mitt Romney) 2002 Salt Lake Games was a fleece beret, something that athletes wore in the opening ceremony and prompted countless people to spend hours on lines waiting to purchase during those Olympics.

Those berets were made by Roots, a Canadian company that was the official U.S. team outfitter for that opening ceremony.
