Bush recalls ‘awesome’ presidency: ‘I was famous and powerful’ By David Edwards Wednesday, July 18, 2012 9:54 EDT Print

George W. Bush speaks to the Hoover Institute Topics: george w bush ♦ Hoover Institute ♦ presidency

In a recent interview, George W. Bush fondly recalled his eight-year presidency as “awesome,” but said he wasn’t eager to get back into public life.

“I really don’t want to be in the public eye anymore,” the former president told the Hoover Institute’s Peter Robinson in an interview posted to YouTube on Tuesday.

“Look, eight years was awesome,” Bush explained. “You know, I was famous and I was powerful, but I have no desire for fame and power anymore.”

“I don’t want to undermine our president — whoever is president,” he added. “And a former president can do that. And I think it’s bad for the presidency itself.”

“I have found that life after the presidency is awesome.”

Bush left office in 2009 with a 22 percent approval rate, making him one of history’s least-liked presidents, according to CBS News. In all, 73 percent said they did not approve of the way he ran the country for eight years.

The relationship between morality and liberty is a directly proportional one.

"If you love wealth more than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, depart from us in peace. We ask not your counsel nor your arms. Crouch down and lick the hand that feeds you. May your chains rest lightly upon you and may posterity forget that you were our countrymen.”

Now he's doing Stand-Up Comedy?????????

"If we don’t adhere to the Constitution on matters as significant as presidential eligibility, then the Constitution ceases to be a meaningful document for guiding our nation."

he can't face the public because he knows he will be met by what is referred to as an angry mob; pitch forks, torches, and the like.

he may think it is comedy, but in fact he is just a perpetual pathological liar.

those who were fooled into voting for baalzabush the first go around on a large scale had to vote for him the second time as to not would require them to acknowledge they were wrong the first time, with many human pride refuses to allow one to admit they were wrong.

Some are still supporting him blaming everything on Obama. Totally unreal!

One cancels out the other.

The little bastard would have tried to stay if he could have found a way to do so. Bush and Clinton both loved being KING, that is why they were brothers.

We need Presidents like Rutherford B. Hayes.

Serve one term and go the hell away.

When you're a dickless, balless wimp it means a lot to be "famous and powerful."

I sense a disturbance in the farce. Much gnashing will ensue.

Bush knows that he was an object of ridicule because of his poor command of English. And Angela Merkel really wounded him when she recoiled from his unwanted neck rub.

Skull & Bones, dumber than any other Yale grad, son of CIA. And he was stuck in his arrested development age bracket, an ailment for which there is no cure.
