AURORA, CO - The man accused in last Friday's mass shooting at an Aurora movie theater sent a notebook full of details about how he was going to kill people to a University of Colorado psychiatrist before the attack, reported Fox News.

The notebook was mailed to the professor and sat unopened in a mail room for as long as a week before it was found Monday.

FBI agents and police officers were called to the Anschutz medical campus on Monday morning on reports of a suspicious package that was sent from suspect James Holmes.

Although the package turned out to be harmless, a search of a campus services' mail room turned up another package sent to the psychiatrist with Holmes' name in the return address, Fox reported citing unmanned sources.

"Inside the package was a notebook full of details about how he was going to kill people," the source said. "There were drawings of what he was going to do in it -- drawings and illustrations of the massacre."

It is not clear why the package was sent to the psychiatrist. The notebook is now in the possession of the FBI.

Holmes is accused of killing 12 and injuring 58 at a midnight showing of the Batman movie "The Dark Knight Rises" at the Century 16 Theater in Aurora.

Police believe the attack was meticulously planned. Holmes had four guns with him during the shooting and had bought hundreds of rounds of ammunition, police have said.

During the attack, Holmes allegedly tossed a gas container into a crowded theater then fired a 12-gauge shotgun at the crowd. As panicked moviegoers ran for the exits, he allegedly switched to a .40 Glock pistol and a .223 Smith & Wesson M&P semi-automatic with a high-capacity drum clip, police said. The gun jammed, likely saving many lives.

Holmes is also suspected of booby-trapping his Aurora apartment with explosives and enough gas that would have consumed the building.

He is being held without bond in isolation in the Arapahoe County Detention Center on suspicion of multiple counts of first-degree murder.

During a Monday morning hearing, Holmes looked disheveled and despondent. He could face the death penalty.

It was sent to the psychiatrist so it would be in the possession of the FBI.

Just like the magic passport.

He'll get out of isolation after his "confession".

I doubt we'll ever hear him testify.

His behavior doesn't add up His behavior already reveals stark inconsistencies that question the mainstream explanation of events. For example, he opened fire on innocent people but then calmly surrendered to police without resistance. This is not consistent with the idea of "killing everyone."

Furthermore, he then admitted to police that his apartment was booby-trapped with explosives. If you were really an evil-minded Joker trying to kill people (including cops), why would you warn them about the booby trap in advance? It doesn't add up.

"Holmes was taken into custody shortly after the shooting, police said, adding he didn't resist when he was arrested," reports a local CBS news affiliate (http://newyork.cbslocal.com/2012/07/20/police-14-dead-in-colorado-the...).

"After his arrest, Holmes told police about 'possible explosives in his residence,' Oates said. When police searched his apartment, they discovered it was booby-trapped and evacuated surrounding buildings, police said. Oates said bomb technicians are determining how to disarm flammable or explosive material in the third-floor apartment. He said police could be there some time."

None of this checks out. If you're a killer bent on causing mayhem, why tell the police about your surprise bomb waiting for them back at your apartment?

I suspect he wasn't the shooter. What do you think?

I was toying with that idea myself. What if the main purpose of the body armor and gas mask was to hide the features of the actual shooter, and he was just told to stand there and give up to the cops...

It would explain a lot.

Yes, it sure would.

Thing is, he DID buy all that stuff, and he DID act strange for a period of time leading up to the massacre. How LONG did he act that way would be the question. And HOW did he get that way in the first place would be another.

If he did purchase the ammo and the gun, the cops need to look at the serial number of the gun and the ammo of where it was purchased.

I heard on Fox News this morning that victims of the shooting have already initiated a lawsuit. From that lawsuit, they are suing whomever drugged up Holmes; such as the psychiatrist. They are also suing the movie production. What they really need to sue is the gun store merchant who sold Holmes the guns and ammo. Not the manufacturer...but the store merchant is responsible if they sold to Holmes.

Holmes had a clean record, so on what grounds should the store be sued?

Ok, now you've got me here. If Holmes had a clean record, explain to me how he managed to get access to the guns and ammo in the first place? I heard he purchased them on the internet. Even if this was an online purchase, he would have had to been vetted out by the online store merchant. From what I've read, Holmes had a history of mental illness and was seeing a psychiatrist who was prescribing him on medication. I believe that once the victims find out more about Holmes mental condition and the psychiatrist being named as a defendant, they will be permitted to amend their complaint to add other new defendants such as the store gun merchant. All store gun merchants that I am aware of will not sell guns or ammo to somebody who has a history of mental illness like this guy. There is a database that all gun store merchants have use to do thorough background checks before allowing such purchases to be permitted in the first place. It's what prevents them from being sued for liability later and protects innocent lives.

He bought his guns at local gun stores. He bought his ammo online.

I have not read that. Even if he WAS on anti-depressants, however, that doesn't exclude him from gun ownership. I believe a person has to have been committed to a mental institution to be deemed insane, and that is the only thing they check for.

That's good to know.

BTW, I've just read that the "notebook" was delivered to the university the day AFTER the shooting, so it may well be a planted piece of "evidence".

It's evidence alright. You can bet the FBI will see that this evidence is quashed under court scrutiny cause the FBI had prior knowledge of this shooting incident.
