Have you taken time to read the entire "God Damn America" sermon? Or just listen to sound bites, it was an hour long sermon that detailed America's many lies that it tells to it's citizens. Covering lies against the blacks, Japanese Americans, and white America. Taken out of context, God Damn The United States by Rev Wright does sound traitorous. But what was Reverend Wright discussing? (The parentheses comments are mine - Timothy) "Confusing God and Government" "Where governments lie, God does not lie. Where governments change, God does not change."Wright states. "[The United States] government lied about their belief that all men were created equal. The truth is they believed that all white men were created equal. The truth is they did not even believe that white women were created equal, in creation nor civilization. The government had to pass an amendment to the Constitution to get white women the vote. (Yes We Did - we gave women the right to vote) "The government lied about Pearl Harbor too. They knew the Japanese were going to attack. Governments lie. (Yes We Did - no where in naval history do aircraft carriers (4) go out of the harbor unprotected, FDR wasn't willing to risk his aircraft carriers being sunk) The government lied about the Gulf of Tonkin Incident. They wanted that resolution to get us in the Vietnam War. Governments lie. (The attack on American Naval vessels in the Tonkin Gulf was actually instigated by CIA gunboats attacking North Vietnam and leading the VN Navy towards the U.S. Navy) "The government lied about the Tuskegee experiment. They purposely infected African American men with syphilis. Governments lie. (Yes We Did - we infected, or allowed to remain infected, blacks with syphillis) The government lied about bombing Cambodia and Richard Nixon stood in front of the camera, 'Let me make myself perfectly clear...' Governments lie. (I'd shouldn't include NIXON, we know tricky Dick never tells a lie. Our ground troops had maps where the Vietnam border was shifted over twenty five miles, so many never knew they were in Cambodia.) The government lied about the drugs for arms Contra scheme orchestrated by Oliver North, and then the government pardoned all the perpetrators so they could get better jobs in the government. Governments lie.... "And the United States of America government, when it came to treating her citizens of Indian descent fairly, she failed. She put them on reservations. (But hey, we allow those Indians to have casinos, so it isn't all bad). When it came to treating her citizens of Japanese descent fairly, she failed. She put them in internment prison camps. When it came to treating her citizens of African descent fairly, America failed. She put them in chains, the government put them on slave quarters, put them on auction blocks, put them in cotton field, put them in inferior schools, put them in substandard housing, put them in scientific experiments, put them in the lowest paying jobs, put them outside the equal protection of the law, kept them out of their racist bastions of higher education and locked them into positions of hopelessness and helplessness. The government gives them the drugs, builds bigger prisons, passes a three-strike law and then wants us to sing 'God Bless America.' No, no, no, not God Bless America. God damn America — that's in the Bible — for killing innocent people. God damn America, for treating our citizens as less than human. God damn America, as long as she tries to act like she is God, and she is supreme. The United States government has failed the vast majority of her citizens of African descent.." And Rev Wright failed to touch on why Ivy League White Boys start wars, and have the black man fight the war. Look at draft-dodger, Ivy Leaguer Mitt Romney, knocked on doors in France, while black men were shot and killed so his Daddy's auto plant could make money in the defense industry. So if you take the Rev Wright's whole sermon in context, and not splice out one or two lines - maybe Rev Wright had a point. Maybe the White Ivy Leaguers (the United States government for all purposes) is out to trampled the black race in America. (Maybe his choice of words were wrong, maybe he should have said Damn these Ivy League educated white men who think more of profits than humanity. But when the Ivy League white boys are usually the ruling elite of the gov't, and the gov't represents America, he chose a phrase that was accurate, just a little insensitive.) Like people straight out of the stone age (I'm being very generous here in describing their advancement) were able to get a college education or do anything but very basic manual labor. They should have shipped them back to their homelands. Trinity Church of Christ, to which Obama belonged for so long, and from which he resigned from, subscribes to Black Liberation Theology. Wright admits that he preaches his brand of that theology which is based, in part, on the works of one James Hal Cone, the recognized pioneer in the black brand of this theology. One notable quote from Cone decribing his Black Liberation Theology is as follows: "Black theology refuses to accept a God who is not identified totally with the goals of the black community. If God is not for us and against white people, then he is a murderer, and we had better kill him. The task of black theology is to kill Gods who do not belong to the black community ... Black theology will accept only the love of God which participates in the destruction of the white enemy. What we need is the divine love as expressed in Black Power, which is the power of black people to destroy their oppressors here and now by any means at their disposal. Unless God is participating in this holy activity, we must reject his love." - "Divine Racism: The Unacknowledged Threshold Issue for Black Theology", in African-American Religious Thought: An Anthology, by William R Jones, ed Cornel West and Eddie Glaube (Westminster John Knox Press). Black theology accepts a perverted and wrested interpretation of Jesus Christ where it describes him as a poor black man (or man of color) living under oppressive white European rule (the Romans) and that he was as much about social change and bringing down government as he was about spiritual liberation. He therefore meets Cone's (and adherants to this perverted view of our Savior) criteria for a God who supports their black power insurgency against what they describe as the ruling rich white men and women in America. This interpretation perverts the love of all men that Christ taught, the peace, the forgiveness, and inner, spiritual focus of Christ and His atonement, which teaches us that the change His atonement brings within us heals us spiritually, creating a new man fashioned after Christ who teaches by example, love, and long suffering. Speaking of these qualities, Cone sarcastically states in his book: "There is no use for a God who loves white oppressors the same as oppressed blacks. We have had too much of white love, the love that tells blacks to turn the other cheek and go the second mile." As if this love, and Christ's own words regarding it are somehow a construct of the white race to keep people of color down. Disgusting, and really very, very tragic that people are being raised on this hate...because that is exactly what it is...and Cone says so. "Black hatred is the black man's strong aversion to white society. No black man living in white America can escape it... While it is true that blacks do hate whites, black hatred is not racism. " Thus Black Liberation Theology changes Christ, the God of peace and love, into a God of their own construction, a God of hate and revenge, who is hell bent on political and social change at any cost and who supports that hate and "revenge" to suit their needs.

Bad idea. It has been my observation that governments insisted upon the same exact thing... only to make the kids white with in a few generations... Granted that was controlled breeding but even in uncontrolled circumstances Certain types of white breed dominate...
