The Republican National Convention, which is scheduled to last from 27 to 30 August here in Tampa Bay, is expected to draw thousands of visitors into the area. By Friday, 10 August, the Republican National Committee had released the majority of the names of the individuals which had received invitations to speak at the upcoming Republican National Convention. Some of these names include in Thursday's edition of TBO.com include former Florida Governor Jeb Bush, Current Florida Governor Rick Scott, and Current Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi.

Admittedly, the Republican National Committee claims there are a still few speaking slots, including that of the “Keynote Speaker of the Convention” have yet to be filled, and therefore the selection process has not been completed. However, there is one blatant and inexplicable omission from this list of chosen Republican speakers that could cost the GOP millions of votes in November: Republican Presidential Candidate Ron Paul.

According to the rules set forth at the Republican National Convention in 2008, Ron has met the requirements for receiving a fifteen minute speaking slot. However, to this point, the Republican National Committee has chosen to remain silent on this issue. For a list of the speakers that have been invited to the event within the last few days, including many that did not meet the stringent qualifications set forth by the committee, please read this article from TBO.com.

According to the rules created and adopted by the Republican National Committee, a candidate for President only needs to have received a plurality, not a majority, of the assigned delegates in just five of the fifty states. At the time of publishing this article, Ron Paul had earned the plurality of the delegates in Iowa, Minnesota, Maine, Louisiana, and Nevada, which gives Paul the necessary five states. Paul may have also received a plurality of the delegates in Massachusetts and Colorado, which would bring the number of states to seven. However, even though the Romney campaign seems certain it has the Republican nomination won before the convention, its operatives have been working in states such as and Louisiana to ensure Paul cannot claim five states with a plurality delegates and in turn deny Paul's legitimate right for a fifteen minute speaking slot at the Republican National Convention.

This should lead many Americans to question why Romney would be working feverously to further disenfranchise a group of voters he must have to defeat Obama, and what he has to lose by allowing Ron Paul the fifteen minute speech he rightfully earned according to the rules of the Republican National Convention. The Real Delegate count versus the AP Delegate Count

While the media outlets have always concentrated on the delegate counts calculated by the Associated Press (AP), which have continually ranked Ron Paul in last place in delegates, the more accurate calculations present a different proportion of delegates for each candidate. The AP has awarded Romney 1480 delegates versus 137 to Paul, and 806 still outstanding.

What to expect in and around Tampa Bay during the RNC

While the Mitt Romney campaign is traveling to Tampa Bay with the nomination in hand and playing the role of a king in a commemoration ceremony, not all of the dust regarding the final nominee selection ceremony has been settled. Everyone living in and around Tampa Bay can attest to the visibly higher levels of security already being put into place around the city, with the understanding of further reinforcements on their way to the area. One thing that is certain: There will be a large number of Ron Paul supporters in Tampa Bay during the week of the Republican National Convention.

Candidate Rudy Guilliani was a speaker at the 2008 Republican National Convention and he didn't win a plurality of delegates in any States. Left the race near the end of January.

Santorum is scheduled to be a speaker at the 2012 Convention and he wasn't even qualified for the Presidency as a natural born citizen. His delegates should be forfeited on those grounds. Romney might not be so qualified either and, if not, his delegates should be forfeited too.

The plurality of delegates in five States requirement is supposedly to have a candidate's name entered at the Convention for nomination -- not protocol for a speaking slot. Even people who aren't politicians have been selected for those.

The Neocon-Occupied Republican Party should simply have announced their decision to run Romney from the get go rather than defraud people of campaign donations and American voters of our electoral process with their farce.

a. Mittens was born in Detroit, Michigan - he's a "natural born" citizen. The KenyanInChief is not a "natural born" citizen for several reasons discussed previously.

b. The Democratic Party is no different than the Republican Party for "neo" Israel First foreign policy. Get real. In fact one could say that there's more Israel First influence in the Democratic Party because the neos are American Jews policy wonks by and large and American Jews are also the Dem Party's stalwart voters and campaign donors especially in Presidential elections.

c. The Israel First and defense industry influences on both US established political parties has sailed - no chance to turn it back now. The Federal Reserve will not be audited by either party - that's a lost cause too.

d. I live in CA. and I have had a belly full of Dem Party destructive insanity. There is no way anyone is going to convince me that Mittens/Ryan are an equal evil to ObamaAlinsky/Senator Plaigarist. NO WAY. I have been living in the Belly of the Dem Party Beast far too long to fall for that B.S. relativism - I know evil up close and personal. Last Prez election I wrote in Ron Paul. Not this time round. Four years of the CommunistInChief is 4 years too long.

If you have no assets, no income worthy of redistribution to Dem Party deadbeat voters; if your parents have an estate of little value that they want to leave to you; if you have an estate of little value that you want to bequeath to your children; if you are not a small business owner or if you belong to a union; if you agree that smelt and frogs and minnows have greater rights to water than human beings - THEN BY ALL MEANS VOTE OBAMA OR DO NOT VOTE AT ALL.

I don't fit any of the above categories so therefore I would not be able to sleep thinking I helped Obama and the Dem Party communists in any way by either not voting or voting a write in candidate. That's just me. People need to do what they need to do.

Being born here isn't the equivalent of a natural born citizen. Romney's father was born in Mexico. His family left Utah as fugitives from the law when it was a territory, not a State. They re-entered this country as refugees fleeing from the Mexican War, not as "ex pat citizens". Where is any documentation that his father was a U.S. citizen? I don't have to believe that Romney qualifies as a natural born citizen to know that Obama doesn't. His father was a Kenyan, not an American. That's enough to disqualify him from the Presidency.

The Democratic Party is no different than the Republican Party for "neo" Israel First foreign policy. Get real.

I didn't say that it wasn't. Both parties are Israel First Communist/Fascists, imo. This is a discussion about the Republican Convention. The Republican Party is under Neocon occupation. The Democrat color is blue but should be red like the Republican because both parties are Commie, Soviet-satelites. America is supposed to be run by the Constitution, not Mafia Parties. Ron Paul represents the Constitution and they don't. I'm voting for him.

a. Sorry to interrupt your ramble but regardless of where Romney's father might have been born or not, Mittens is a natural born citizen by virtue of being born in Detroit, Michigan, which last I heard is a US state:

You certainly have a unique perspective that most of us will never experience (hopefully). I won't counsel you how to use your vote, but I will ask you: do you think that Romney will undo anything that Obama has inflicted upon us? Call off the TSA goons in airports and highway checkpoints? Curtail the exploding growth of FedGov?? Anything?? I don't, so I'm leaning towards not voting.

In terms of income taxes and estate taxes and Dream Act and bailing out "poor folks' "college student loans, I/we know for a fact that Obama will push onerous re-distribution of wealth legislation that will financially benefit the underclass and illegals. He will be on a tear the next 4 years to establish a "legacy."

Romney is far less likely to do what Obama will most certainly do in terms of taking from you and me to give to his deadbeat special interest voters. The limousine liberals ( the true rich) have bags of money - paying more income tax is chump change to them, but not to you and me.

Both Obama and Romney are Israel Firsters so they are even that way. They are both social moderates so they are even this way re: abortion, gay marriage.

Not voting will benefit Obama/Alinsky. There are far more registered Dem Party voters than GOP. Some Dem Party voters can stay home because so many more will show up and vote and still Dem Party voters will out number Republican voters.

Be careful about believing posters at 4um who say they are not going to vote. Don't assume it's for "constitutional principles." If they have no assets or if they are unionized workers, sitting at home does not harm Obama being elected - there are so many more registered Dem Party voters, the ones @ 4um who stay home "on principle" have the luxury of doing so and still having ObamaAlinsky elected.

Look at your financial situation and decide whether you will vote. If you are middle class non-minority, sitting at home is self-destructive imo.

We are way beyond Constitutional Principles. It's self-preservation at this point. While some of us are debating Constitution, others at 4um are saying govt should seize underwater mortagaes unlawfully thru eminent domain to keep mortgage defaulters in their homes courtesy of middle class taxpayers who will pick up the tab because the mortgage defaulters are "social inferiors that only wanted a home." You see what I'm saying?

In terms of repealing - no I doubt he will repeal things like TSA because most Americans are ok with it 'cause it makes them "feel safe." Go figure. He might try to repeal Obamacare if he has a majority in the House and the Senate because that is an issue that the majority of voters do not like.

Frankly I'm more interested in what Romney will not do (new) in re-distribution of wealth vs what Obama will do to enhance his communistic legacy. Like I said before, for me, I am casting a vote against Obama. You do what you need to do that suits your situation.

If being born here was enough to be a United States citizen, it could just say: All persons born or naturalized in the United States are citizens of the United States - but it doesn't. Children born here to foreign parents subject to the jurisdiction of a foreign country are also subject to the jurisdiction of a foreign country. Arguments like the one you cited amount to kidnapping of children born here to aliens.

Constitutionally, he doesn't have to run under any Party banner. I would, though, like to see him officially form a new branch of the Republican Party. Jeffersonian Republicans sounds more Constitutionally oriented to me than the Tea Party.
