Ohio Republican congressional candidate Samuel "Joe the Plumber" Wurzelbacher plunged into controversy this weekend in Arizona by delivering speeches where he said the United States needs to build a fence along the Mexican border and "start shooting."

At a Prescott, Arizona fundraiser for Arizona State Sen. Lori Klein, Wurzelbacher applauded Klein's stance against illegal immigration as he denounced political correctness.

"We're afraid to say anything because we are afraid someone will report it on the 5 o'clock news," said Wurzelbacher, of Holland. "For years, I've said put a damned fence on the border going to Mexico and start shooting. I am running for Congress and that should be a bad thing to say. You know what? It's how I feel. I am not going to hide it because I am running for an office. I want my borders protected and I am very, very adamant about that."

Controversial Maricopa County Sheriff Joe Arpaio, who is known for his crusades against illegal immigration, also spoke at the fundraiser for Klein.

Wurzelbacher explored the illegal immigration theme again at a Patriot Rally in Arizona, where he suggested: "Put troops on the border and start shooting. I bet that solves our illegal immigration problem real quick."

"It's a scary world out there, and I always feel a lot damned better when I got my .45 in my hand," Wurzelbacher told the group.

Both of Wurzelbacher's speeches were posted on the Internet by Prescottenews.com

Wurzelbacher's remarks were denounced by the Arizona Democratic Party, which issued a statement that said they provided "another black eye for Arizona."

Wurzelbacher's rival for a congressional seat that stretches between Cleveland and Toledo, Toledo Democratic Rep. Marcy Kaptur, issued a press release that said his comments "have no place in a civil society."

"A Member of Congress is sworn to uphold the Constitution, not to take the law into his own hands," said the statement from Kaptur. "He should take back his words and apologize to everyone who respects life, the Constitution and the rule of law."

Wurzelbacher spokesman Phil Christofanelli said the candidate understands that people want to come to the United States because "it's the greatest country on Earth," and that its laws need to be enforced so it can remain the greatest country on Earth.

"As a Congressman, Joe would empower the federal government to do whatever it takes to secure our borders," said Christofanelli. "He believes that border security agents, like every law enforcement officer, should be permitted to use force when necessary in order to protect themselves and to prevent American laws from being violated."

Given the fact that Kaptur's campaign is heavily funded by labor unions, Christofanelli said "you would think she would care more about preserving American jobs."

Wurzelbacher spent Monday in Wisconsin, where he was campaigning on behalf of former Gov. Tommy Thompson's GOP bid for U.S. Senate. He told Patch.com that his wife hails from Wisconsin and he hopes to move his family to its north woods "in the next couple of years, provided he can find a job."

It's about time, that someone noticed that we're being invaded by Mexico!

Actually, everyone knows it. But we can't delay (or shoot-let's get back to Earth) the elite's labor pool, crucial in helping rich folks maintain their comfy lifestyles while hedging against the plunging value of The Fraud. (this guy actually believes that Frauds are collateral-ized).

I mean, think about it. If you have bazillions in the market working for you and their devaluation nearly cancels out your rates of return, and then you (some rich folks) are taxed on profits for which no special exemption yet exists, wouldn't you demand that govt allow you to pay 3rd world wages, with no social security match or health insurance outlays for many herds of modular, disposable browns?

There's a reason why rich folks don't make much noise about "dollar" (sic) devaluation or "undocumented workers". They're planning extinction for the greedy, spoiled Americans who cruelly savage wealth with their exorbitant demands. American worker chutzpah is such that we now aspire to live in suburban McMansions with enough money to take vacations, buy boats and second summer homes and even send our kids to college!

You need only look at the plight of non unionized pilots, many of whom can qualify for food stamps and with little hope of repaying their student loans to see how the "ee-lights" intend to adjust the pay scales for workers they can't yet dump on. (Too many pilots + not enough jobs = poopy wages for those who cannot collectively bargain against giant airlines)

Fortunately, my trade faces no competition from Mohados but after 9/11 the local electrician's union sent 200 plus "travelers" back to their homes to sit on their benches and then the local placed 200 of their own electricians on the bench. And, that number only included people who still wanted to work. Many electricians just give up and work in other "scab" trades or they stay home with "The Oxycontin Blues".

No, like it or not Mexican labor has been woven into our fabric since the 1942 Bracero Program when Mexican migrant workers were imported to perform work that "Americans won't do". Shortly after, other trades and occupations complained about this perk to BIG AG, demanding equal access to cheap labor in exchange for their hefty contributions to "the parties in DC fighting for us!" (after all the fighting they claim to be doing for us they should look like "the alley cat who lost to BIG TOM" instead of tanned with capped teeth and thoroughly refreshed after their regular "Monica Massage" entitlements)

And, conveniently, there will never be enough agents to respond in a timely when volunteers round up illegals at the border. In fact, the govt would prefer to arrest the volunteers but that would cause a backlash and cost politicians some seats.

Because legalizing wholesale cheap labor would be politically untenable, particularly for reps who run every two years, the de facto system of immigration with only token enforcement by La Migra (and no penalties for the employers) has been honed to a point where any industry that wants to use cheap labor in large numbers may do so. And whenever the subject comes up politicians scratch their heads and play make believe, as if it's a problem for which no solution exists.

Shooting 'em at the border is born of frustration when the solution is very simple; jail employers who hire illegals, then watch as millions of unemployed head South, back to their villages just to taste Mamasita's delicioso comida again.
