Kathleen Thomas, Brandon Raub's mother A high-profile US Marine has been thrown behind bars for posting his critical views of US government on the social networking website Facebook. According to his mother Kathleen Thomas, Brandon Raub - who has served his nation in two wars - was hauled off by authorities from the FBI, Secret Service and Chesterfield County PD, the Salemnews website reported. FBI agent Sherry Grainger reportedly told Thomas her son was making “threats that were terrorist in nature”. The writer of the story on the website described the affair as “Facebook Terrorism” stuff. In reaction to her son's arrest, the decorated Marine’s mother has called into question the freedom of speech in the United States. Her remarks followed the abrupt arrest of Raub whose posts on Facebook have been under scrutiny. The case, experts say, is a flagrant indication of the US government’s strict control over social networking websites, above all Facebook. Thomas said her son was questioned about why he was writing comments critical of the government. "He basically said 'I have some disagreements with the government and share this', and they said, 'You have to go with us'," Thomas noted. She added, "He was handcuffed, not read his rights, put into a Chesterfield Police Department vehicle and taken to John Randolph Psychiatric Hospital in Hopewell, Virginia," Thomas said. KA/JR/SS

I listened to that interview today also with Raub & Kokesh. Ive never heard him speak before, but Raub seemed particiularly subdued. He claims he's not drugged, im not so sure. he seemed extremely passive. weird, no? i also had time to go over Raub's facebooks posts. its like a summary of whats posted here. the only thing that stands out is that he was planning to do something got more imminent, and thats apparently when/why they picked him up. I highly suggest reading his facebook posts. very interesting. On December 23, 2011, he posted "Fuck the New World Order. I'm bringing it down." but he got more specific as 2012 went on. he posted that his actions, vague as they may be, involved among other things the specifics of quote 'severing heads'; and his RECENT posts in august indicated that his actions were imminent. Also, why did facebook corporation leave up all his supposedly controversial and threatening posts? Guess what. facebook corporation does not leave up posts that violate a law. facebook removes profiles of people involved in crimes relating to their posts. why is this one still there? Either is is some plant, a decoy, to gague reaction of his incarceration in a nuthouse, or he genuinely did go over the bin and posted that he was ''gonna'' do whatever. If the story is as presented on face value, i think they would have a hard time convicting him, which is why he was only put in a nuthouse and not in a jail . i dont think hes been charged with anything. Yes, I did read those facebook postings that were saved as screenshots and reposted by indy media outlets. But what I am saying is that in addition to those scant ones above, I logged onto facebook and read many, many many more older facebook postings direct from the source, not second or 3rd hand. in their entirety, the posts are interesting and the topics addressed are much different than whats posted here, other than the "severing heads" part. his lawyer now claims that his posts were part of some video game called illuminate, and a judge released him from the nuthouse.

yes, i put the link to Raub's facebook wall in my reply #9. Although similar to twitter, you may have to be logged into facebook to view it. i am not sure. try it.
in my reply 17 above, i wrote "and the topics addressed are much different than whats posted here", but i meant to say and the topics addressed are NOT much different than whats posted here. ;-)
