Title: Lawyer: 20 more cases similar to Brendon Raub ongoing

The lawyer who helped secure the release of Brendon Raub, a former Marine forcibly incarcerated in a psychiatric ward by authorities in Virginia for political posts on Facebook, told the Alex Jones Show Friday that there are currently a further 20 cases in his county alone that are similar in nature to Raub's detention.

John Whitehead of the Rutherford Institute also said that he had been contacted by numerous veterans in the aftermath of Raub's release who had encountered similar problems with authorities attempting to have them declared mentally ill.

Whitehead attributed the high number of cases involving veterans as a consequence of the Department of Homeland Security's aggressive campaign to demonize former service members as domestic extremists.

Despite controversy at the time, DHS chief Janet Napolitano said she stood by an April 2009 DHS intelligence assessment that listed returning vets as likely domestic terrorists.

Just a month later, the New York Times reported on how Boy Scout Explorers were being trained by the DHS to kill "disgruntled Iraq war veterans" in terrorist drills.

The FBI has also gone out of its way to characterize returning veterans from Iraq and Afghanistan as a major domestic terrorist threat.

Whitehead pointed to efforts on behalf of health authorities in the United States to characterize distrust of authority as a mental illness under the label "oppositional defiant disorder" or ODD.

As we highlighted earlier Friday, veterans in particular are being targeted in police raids to confiscate their firearms based on the manufactured pretext that they are "mentally defective."

Earlier this year, we also reported on a similar case involving David Sarti, one of the participants in the National Geographic Channel's Doomsday Prepper show. Sarti visited his doctor complaining of chest pains, only to have the doctor later commit him to a psychiatric ward and alert authorities, before Sarti was declared "mentally defective" and put on an FBI list that stripped him of his second amendment rights.

During an interview with Alex Jones on Thursday night, Whitehead also revealed that shortly before his release, psychiatrists had threatened to forcibly medicate Raub in order to "brainwash" him.

Critics have made comparisons to the infamous psikhushka psychiatric prisons in the former Soviet Union where dissidents were sent to be isolated, brainwashed, and have their political ideas discredited amongst the general public.

Whitehead added that Brandon Raub is currently at home recovering from his ordeal and that he plans to file a civil lawsuit against the government for damages. Whitehead hopes that the shocking nature of the case will force Congress to begin investigations that could strip the state's power to carry out civil commitments, under which victims are declared mentally ill with little due process and detained in psychiatric wards. Department of Homeland Security's aggressive campaign to demonize former service members as domestic extremists.

Government bureaucracy, particularly Jew weasels therein, taking steps to nip in the bud the beginnings of an armed insurrection by vets for the continuous wars travesty being inflicted on the military for no other reasons than to protect the Israeli criminal state whose lobby assures a sinecure for members of Congress.

So much for the theory that "we fight them there so we don't have to fight them here".

LOL. It's not even a theory, just Jew propaganda to hoodwink America's intellectual peasants to keep them from questioning these wars for Israel.

Ex-Air Force nurse Joyce Riley, a crusader for veterans rights to, especially mental health care, gave some insight on C2C into the "informative" role of America's media. Joyce recounted an instance when a reporter asked for an interview on the record rate of suicide among vets. Before the reporter began questions Joyce asked: Why are we in Afghanistan?

Reporter: I never thought about that.

health authorities in the United States to characterize distrust of authority as a mental illness under the label "oppositional defiant disorder" or ODD.

I'm guessin' that the "cure" or "treatment plan" for "oppositional defiant disorder" until "cured" is:

1. Mood Stabilizers, e.g. lithium, depakote

2. Antipsychotic "medicines" (neuroleptics) , e.g. Risperidal, Risperidone, Seroquil, Wellbutrin. Add on antipsychotic drugs, e.g. Ambilify, Zoloft.

3. Hypnotic Drug, e.g. trazodone.

4. Risperdal Consta and/or Haldol sustained release injection by "court order" every two weeks, (when "non-compliant" with oral antipsychotic medicines.)

5. Electroshock "therapy."

6. Surgical Lobotomy.

I think that "assessment" came from her "suspicious activities" reporting partner, Walmart. And what does Walmart consider to be "suspicious activities"? Being a good customer. As you walk in, they have a friendly and helpful Greeter at the door who hands out sales papers, answers questions, provides you with a cart, and seems happy to assist with finding your way around the place. When you go to leave after spending much, the same Greeter turns into a copper who orders you to stop and hand over your papers/receipt(s) so they can rifle through your items as if you're a criminal. Compare their "policy" to the guv's now of providing Recruiters as friendly and helpful Greeters on the way into the Military and its DHS's paranoia of treating our Vets as if criminal suspects upon leaving, rifling through their belongings just because it wants to do so, hitting them with ruinous claims of outlawry, and then carting them off to be further detained against their will.

John Whitehead Interviews Brandon Raub

Published on Aug 28, 2012 by TRIFreedomUnderFire

Brandon Raub, a decorated marine who was arrested by federal agents and incarcerated in a psych ward for simply posting thoughts and song lyrics to his Facebook page, discusses his ordeal and his thoughts about the state of our freedoms with John Whitehead, Constitutional Attorney and President of The Rutherford Institute.

Edit to add a note on the Executive Orders discussion in the video: Executive Orders are not laws. They are like inter-office memos.

The Program

By Laura Poitras

August 28, 2012 "New York Times"

The Program: The filmmaker Laura Poitras profiles William Binney, a 32-year veteran of the National Security Agency who helped design a top-secret program he says is broadly collecting Americans’ personal data.

It took me a few days to work up the nerve to phone William Binney. As someone already a “target” of the United States government, I found it difficult not to worry about the chain of unintended consequences I might unleash by calling Mr. Binney, a 32-year veteran of the National Security Agency turned whistle- blower. He picked up. I nervously explained I was a documentary filmmaker and wanted to speak to him. To my surprise he replied: “I’m tired of my government harassing me and violating the Constitution. Yes, I’ll talk to you.”

Two weeks later, driving past the headquarters of the N.S.A. in Maryland, outside Washington, Mr. Binney described details about Stellar Wind, the N.S.A.’s top-secret domestic spying program begun after 9/11, which was so controversial that it nearly caused top Justice Department officials to resign in protest, in 2004.

“The decision must have been made in September 2001,” Mr. Binney told me and the cinematographer Kirsten Johnson. “That’s when the equipment started coming in.” In this Op-Doc, Mr. Binney explains how the program he created for foreign intelligence gathering was turned inward on this country. He resigned over this in 2001 and began speaking out publicly in the last year. He is among a group of N.S.A. whistle-blowers, including Thomas A. Drake, who have each risked everything — their freedom, livelihoods and personal relationships — to warn Americans about the dangers of N.S.A. domestic spying.

[sic]

The 2008 amendments to the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act, which oversees the N.S.A. activities, are up for renewal in December. Two members of the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence, Senators Ron Wyden of Oregon and Mark Udall of Colorado, both Democrats, are trying to revise the amendments to insure greater privacy protections. They have been warning about “secret interpretations” of laws and backdoor “loopholes” that allow the government to collect our private communications. Thirteen senators have signed a letter expressing concern about a “loophole” in the law that permits the collection of United States data. The A.C.L.U. and other groups have also challenged the constitutionality of the law, and the Supreme Court will hear arguments in that case on Oct. 29.

Laura Poitras is a documentary filmmaker who has been nominated for an Academy Award and whose work was exhibited in the 2012 Whitney Biennial. She is working on a trilogy of films about post-9/11 America. This Op-Doc is adapted from a work in progress to be released in 2013.

This video is part of a series by independent filmmakers who have received grants from the BRITDOC Foundation and the Sundance Institute.
