In an interview with the New York Times, Ron Paul detailed his conversations with Republican National Convention organizers, who he says offered him a speaking slot under conditions he couldn't meet. According to Paul, convention planners offered the Texas congressman the chance to speak under two conditions: that he gave a speech pre-approved by Romney's campaign, and that he give a "full-fledged" endorsement of Mitt Romney. “It wouldn’t be my speech," Paul said. "That would undo everything I’ve done in the last 30 years. I don’t fully endorse him for president." While the libertarian candidate effectively ended his presidential bid when he announced that he would stop formally campaigning in May, many of his supporters have held on to the hope that Paul could amass enough support to challenge Romney's nomination. As the Associated Press points out, several hundred delegates are still pledged to support Paul. Romney's camp has made attempts at mending fences with Paul and his devotees. CBS News reported that a video paying tribute to Paul will be played during the convention. "While they certainly disagree on many issues, they always have had ... a mutual respect," Romney campaign strategist Russ Schriefer told CBS. However, Paul's reluctance to give his rival a ringing endorsement should come as little surprise. In May, Paul campaign chairman Jesse Benton told reporters that formal backing was unlikely. "I would never say never," he said. "I do not believe that that is likely." Poster Comment: I originally found this article, or the title anyway, on LP. But Goldi has no problem jumping in on a thread that attacks Ron Paul. So much for her excuse of banning all RP threads. The "I don't fully endorse Mitt Romney" is a little soft core compared to his position on the 2008 ticket. Perhaps he is waiting for the convention to be over before stating who or what he will vote for in Nov. "More than any time in history, mankind faces a crossroads. No, Goldi showed long ago that she had a visceral dislike, maybe even a hatred for Ron Paul, and she wasn't all that happy that those who liked him posted on LP, or didn't seem to be.

Most left-wing, big government, pro-police state, Israel-first traitors do. The fact that she proudly aligns herself with the likes of left-wingers like Gatlin, yukon, Grand Island, out damned spot and "the admiral" (snicker)says it all. Calling Ron Paul an isolationist is like calling your neighbor a hermit because he doesn't come over and break your window - unknown I WITHDRAW MY CONSENT! Who is "the admiral"?

My understanding is that he once claimed to be a retired admiral. I always found it interesting that the so-called "conservatives" I previously named always side with a known Democrat on just about every issue. Who is "the admiral"? A long time freeper and admitted/outspoken Democrat named harrowup. OK. THAT name I'm familiar with. I've had him on permanent bozo so I wasn't aware of his supposed biography.
