The Bush White House ignored even more warnings about September 11 than we thought, according to journalist Kurt Eichenwald, who has a column in the NYT and a new book out today.

We already knew about the presidential brief from Aug. 6, 2001 that was titled "Bin Laden Determined to Strike in U.S.” The White House has shown that this declassified document was primarily a history of Al Qaeda, not a warning of imminent attack.

But there were other briefings, some seen by Eichenwald, that did warn of an imminent attack.

On May 1 the CIA said that a terrorist group in the U.S. was planning an attack. On June 22 it warned that this attack was "imminent." On June 29 the brief warned of near-term attacks with "dramatic consequences" including major casualties. On July 1, the briefing said that the terrorist attack had been delayed but "will occur soon." On July 24, the president was told again that the attack had been delayed but would occur within months.

These and other similar warnings were ignored by the White House. The Neocons in charge insisted that the threat was instead a coordinated diversion meant to distract attention from Saddam Hussein, according to Eichenwald. This opinion frustrated the intelligence community, who saw the theory as totally illogical. Eichenwald's column is already getting a lot of attention today. No doubt so will his book, 500 Days: Secrets And Lies In The Terror Wars.

Obama fixed that!

He doesn't HAVE daily Intelligence Briefings!

Only had approx. 38% of them in the last two years. It Interfers with his golf lessons.

Of course Bush ignored it.....for PNAC and for the Patriot Act and for warmongering and taking out all the nations on the PNAC list. Any action might have put a wrench in the big plan for this banana republic.

Of course Bush ignored it.....

Hell, Bush didn't just "ignore" it, he gave a wink and a nod to his neocon henchmen and their Mossad handlers.

"The real deal is this: the ‘royalty’ controlling the court, the ones with the power, the ones with the ability to make a difference, with the ability to change our course, the ones who will live in infamy if we pass the tipping points, are the captains of industry, CEOs in fossil fuel companies such as EXXON/Mobil, automobile manufacturers, utilities, all of the leaders who have placed short-term profit above the fate of the planet and the well-being of our children." - James Hansen

The first thing Clinton did was warn Bush about Osama bin Laden. Paul Wolfowitz, traitor and coward, said he was offended that people were comparing Osama's warnings to attack us to Hitler's warnings.

"Don't compare bin Laden to the Holocaust!!!!!"

I sense a disturbance in the farce. Much gnashing will ensue.

When you have a former President (Bush Jr.) doing oil business dealings with the Saudi's and Bin Laden families, of course Mr. Bush is going to feign ignorance and turn the other cheek when he is in the know of such terrorists activities to take place in the U.S. http://rense.com/general14/bushsformer.htm They don't give a damn about those victims of 9-11.
