Beck: God put Romney behind in polls to prove its a miracle when he wins By David Edwards Monday, October 1, 2012 12:56 EDT Print GBTV's Glenn Beck Topics: glenn beck ♦ mitt romney
Conservative talk show host Glenn Beck says that GOP hopeful Mitt Romneys poll numbers have fallen as a part of a plan from God to make it obvious to the American people that divine intervention was responsible when Republicans take the White House in November.
I know Mitt Romney wasnt your first choice, nor was he mine, Beck recently told controversial historian David Barton in a video clip highlighted by Right Wing Watch on Monday. I am to the point that A God is trying to make this so clear to us that if it happens, its his finger. Because nothing looks good.
And yet, everybody I know who I consider a spiritual giant feels good, he continued. And it bothers me that I feel good because, Im like, theres no reason that I should feel good on this.
The former Fox News host went on to explain that Romneys hidden private life proved that he was kind of on the line with President George Washington.
Nobody knew Mitts private life, Barton agreed. In the same way, you have George Washington. When you look at his private life, now you know why hes a great guy.
And a politician to hide that shows even deeper character, I think, Beck observed. It shows he knows [God is] in charge. And he obeys.
Hes enough like [Washington] that God can change you.
Recent polls have indicated that Romney is behind in all nine battleground states.
