I Stayed Silent Damn inflation makes me spend
The Fed's creating cash again
It is Ben's mission: "Just keep printing"
"Send 'copters while they are sleeping"
"Our mission accomplished was not all in vain"
"Still remains"
They hoped that I'd stay silent
In nightmare dreams I heat my home
Nuclear winter chills my bones
Natural gas is just my lamp
I can afford not more than cold and damp
But my dream was stopped by the flash of a copter's light
Cash dropped that night
They hoped that I'd stay silent
And in the black ops light I saw
Ten thousand dollars, maybe more
Neighbors taking to plan spending
Neighbors grabbing to plan eating
Neighbors hoarding cash in the hopes never shared
All there dared
Hope that I would stay silent
"Fools," said I, "You do not know!"
"Money like a cancer grows!"
"How far the helicopters flew?"
"Don't you think they burn fuel too?"
But my words like preaching mother's fell
And they all
Hoped I would stay silent
And the neighbors bowed and prayed
To what Bernanke made
The 'copter sent out its last warning
"Low on Gas" light it was forming
And the alarms that sounded as it crashed into the empty shopping mall
Through the outer wall
What more could I say? I stayed silent (shrug)
